As with everyone posting here I really appreciate Robbie's contribution since he signed for us. Was delighted to get him back from Liverpool - but he has been nothing like the player he was since then!

I agree the whole point of making the top 4 is to consolidate it and aim higher the following season with the higher standard of player that Champions League football attracts which would mean aiming for the title I guess or at least 3rd lol. I would expect us to sign or try and sign a truly world class striker, attacking midfielder and probably a right back.
On a side note probably not best to sell him to Villa because it wouls stenghten them however I would happily use himas a sweetener to get Milner off them or possibly Ashley Young.......... at the end of the day if we do grab fourth we need to take a top four mentality and pinch the best players from the also rans....... this has been whats kept the big 4 the big 4 for so long everytime a team comes close they come in take there best players and said team have to build again......... Carrick, Berba and Keane are examples of this.

sell! he is 30 and past his prime, and we have Pav, Crouchy and Defoe. And i would love us to make Gudjohnsen our player, if the money is in 3-5 mil region.

Keep and sign Gudjohnsen. We need a far bigger squad of players in order to
obtain/compete in the league, CL and Carling/FA cup.
I think its crazy for people to say getting rid of Keane would be smart, but
in order to actually stay far from injuries and keeping the squad far from thin
it would be wise keeping Keane! He has finally found form at Celtic, however I
do know plenty will say, its lower than the Championship but he will come
back to us with some confidence and some form! If this means better
help in the CL (if we make it) and the league. So be it!

He's nearly scored a 100 goals for us and been club captain for a few years. In my opinion, he's definitely one of our more legendary players in the PL-era.
With that said though, he's probably should move on and 9 million wouldn't be terrible.
