With Tottenham Hotspur celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, a new book has been released this month about what it is like to support this great club. It is titled From the Lane and is authored by long time Spurs fan, Oliver Wright. Here is a brief synopsis:

Just over twenty years ago I went to my first Tottenham Hotspur football match at White Hart Lane. From that moment I was hooked. From the Lane is the story of one fan in the following of their club over two decades. The book charts my experiences of being a Tottenham supporter, touching on the factual aspects of the games I have been to, but is centred mainly on the emotional journey that this obsession undoubtedly provides.

It is written based entirely on personal experiences of supporting the club, interspersed with episodes of a personal life that all impact back on what it is like to be a football fan.

From that first Chris Waddle and Glenn Hoddle-inspired moment, through the years of such great players as Paul Gascoigne, Gary Lineker, Jurgen Klinsmann and David Ginola, right up to the current era, this story reveals how being a supporter of a football club is able to affect a human being, able to provide both sadness and joy.

From the Lane is a story that dedicated Tottenham fans everywhere will be able to enjoy and relate to. It is available now from www.lulu.com/uk and via the website www.fromthelanebook.co.uk, priced just £7.99.
