I think Modric will move to the right wing (Lennon & Bentley are both out) Gareth Bale will move to the left wing and Niko Kranjcar will partner Wilson Palacios in central midfield.

With Bale moving further foward, it gives Benoit Assou-Ekotto the chance to revert to left back.

So our starting line-up for Fulham could look like this...

      _______
      | Gomes |

      Corluka - Dawson - Bassong - Assou-Ekotto

      Modric - Palacios - Kranjcar - Bale

      Defoe - Pavlyuchenko

Subs: Alnwick (GK), Kyle Walker, Kaboul, Livermore, Rose, Gudjohnsen, Crouch

That makes good sense. Only thing is Kaboul and Walker won't be on the bench as they are cup tied

we really don't need a replay here, we are injury ridden, challenging for the top 4 going into the most important stage of the season, we cant afford any more games on top of that or we are basically screwed me thinks, but if it means winning the Cup, its one more game we'll have to take

Question: Everyone probably knows this but me, but if Wilson is booked in the Cup is he suspended for league games?

the game will very much depend on the strikers inspiration. I would love to see Crouchy a starter on Saturday.

      Team news

      05 March 2010
Harry Redknapp reports that Jermain Defoe is a doubt for Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final at Fulham.
The striker is struggling with a tight hamstring and will be assessed before the 5.20pm kick-off at Craven Cottage.
Harry revealed that JD didn't train on Friday. "Jermain said he felt the hamstring on Wednesday night at Wembley (playing for England) and didn't feel too good after that game. He's had treatment and we'll have to see how he is."
The manager's biggest problems are in the midfield area where he's without Tom Huddlestone (ankle), David Bentley (hip), Jermaine Jenas and Aaron Lennon (groin). Ledley King (thigh) will also be missing.
As we reported earlier this week, JJ has undergone surgery in Germany while Tom will rest for two weeks before having another MRI scan on his injury.
"It's a problem area for us," added Harry. "We've recalled Jake Livermore (from Peterborough) and Andros Townsend (MK Dons) from their loans. They are young players who we hope have big futures and both will be in the squad for Fulham.
"We've a few injuries but we'll still have 11 very good players turning out on Saturday."
Younes Kaboul and Kyle Walker are cup-tied while Jonathan Woodgate (groin) and Carlo Cudicini (wrist, pelvis) remain out.
      COME ON YOU SPURS!!!

I think we're winning this game outright, no need for a replay. Sure we're injured here and there, but their best player when we played them in Dec Dempsey is gone too, plus they've got Juventus later in the week, quite possibly they take their eyes off the prize here.

If Defoe is out and our midfield is make shift perhaps it's the best time to pack the middle in a 4-5-1 so we won't get overrun.

      Pav

      Bale - Modric - Palacios - Gudjohnson - Kranjcar.

If Defoe is out then I'd give the two big lads in crouch and pav a go together and drum it into the players to keep it on the floor. We all saw how dangerous crouch can be wen chances are presented to his feet rather than his head and pav is on song so it would be interesting to see how they would work together for 90 mins.
Oh - you want me to watch my mouth, how?

Agree with Shady. I think, with Crouch's game for England and Pav's good form, partnering them together can only lead to good things. We would be extra dangerous on corners and free kicks with the both of them in. They also linked well in the brief time they played together when Pav came on as a sub. I would suggest Gudjohnsen to start with Pav, but I think he should be played in the MF in place of Hudd for this game. Maybe would be a bit too attacking, but if we score 4 or 5 goals Fulham ain't gonna win !

We really need to wrap this up in 1 game... we really don't need a replay with all of our injuries.
