      Typical!

You wait all season for an own goal, then two come along in the same match!

Oh... and Pavlyuchenko is on 6 goals for the season from just 384 minutes played - a strike rate of a goal for every 64 minutes on the pitch.

      HARRY ON BOLTON WIN:

Harry Redknapp had no complaints after Wednesday night's 4-0 win against Bolton sent us through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Roman Pavlyuchenko again stole the headlines with a second double in as many matches as we ran out comfortable winners in the fifth-round replay at the Lane.

The Russian striker opened the scoring midway through the first half and then rounded off the evening with his second and our fourth two minutes from time.

In-between, Bolton added to our tally with two own goals. Jermain Defoe slid in for the second goal but the ball went in off Jussi Jaaskelainen while Andy O'Brien turned Gareth Bale's cross into his own net for the key third goal just two minutes into the second half.

We now travel to Fulham in the last eight on Saturday, March 6, kick-off 5.20pm.

"It was a good performance and a good night for us," said Harry. "You have got to be pleased when you win 4-0 and I couldn't have asked for more than that. There were some good goals and some great play. It was a terrific night.

"Bolton had some chances but you are always going to get chances, I've said many times that we pick an open team. We had lots of chances as well but it was difficult for them because Owen (Coyle, Bolton manager) has also got his mind on the league as well. We can only beat what is in front of us and that is what we did."

The only cause of concern for Harry was a couple of injury scares with Jermain Defoe coming off at half-time with a tight hamstring, Wilson Palacios departing on the hour feeling unwell and David Bentley also suffering from a tight groin.

Harry also reported that Vedran Corluka was missing through illness with Benoit Assou-Ekotto deputising at right-back on his return from injury. "There is a bug running through the club," said Harry. "Wilson played but wasn't feeling too good and Corluka went down with it as well
"A few of the lads have been feeling under the weather and a lot of the Academy group have it as well.

"We picked up one of two knocks but the lads who came on did well. Eidur Gudjohnsen was terrific and obviously Niko Kranjcar is a fantastic player and young Danny Rose got an opportunity to show what he can do as well, so that was good."

      DAWSON ON BOLTON WIN:

Michael Dawson described our supporters as 'fantastic' after another impressive attendance for Wednesday night's FA Cup replay against Bolton.

It was another 30,000-plus figure - 31,426 - in the competition at White Hart Lane after near full-houses against both Peterborough United and Leeds United in the previous two rounds.

The fans left the Lane happy as well after another double from Roman Pavlyuchenko and two own goals secured a convincing 4-0 win and a quarter-final tie at Fulham on Saturday, March 6.

"It was another 30,000-plus turn out on a rainy Wednesday night and that's full credit to the fans, but that's what they are about," said 'Daws', who captained the side and led by example from the back.

"When we travel away we take massive crowds with us - just look at Wolves, Bolton and Wigan in recent weeks.

"You need the fans behind you and that gives the players a real lift, believe me.

"First of all it's up to us to play well on the pitch and when you have 30,000-plus in here singing loudly it's a real buzz."

As for the match, Michael was delighted to keep a 13th clean sheet in all competitions this season against a Bolton side that had their moments, but never quite looked as threatening as us in and around the penalty area.

"We were 2-0 up at half-time and we just said to make sure we went out and scored the third goal otherwise it could be interesting," added Michael.
"Two minutes after half-time we managed to get that third goal and from there it was comfortable for us.

"You always know you are in for a tough game when you play Bolton and they had a few chances, Gomes made a couple of good saves but when we got the ball down and played our football we looked good."

good solid win, city lost and we are in the quarters probably 3rd favourites for the cup, what could've went better?

super pav took two good finishes and hopefully that's him cemented in the side on the long term, bale was again superb and his crossing and dribbling has been second to none, by far our most improved player this year, JD was quiet enough and had 1 good shot all night but he did enforce the 2nd goal so fair play to him, bentley didn't do much, palacios was sloppy in possession, tommy hudd was ok, nothing spectacular but he done ok, bassong was caught out a few times, dawson was important because he won balls in the air which was boltons main threat, gomes pulled off some good stops, BAE didn't do too badly considering he was out of position but its great to see him back, kranjcar done well in his cameo appearance, gudjohnsen impressed me with his strength and his passing was easy on the eye, danny rose done well when he came on, he reminds me a bit of a certain young winger we bought from leeds for a similar fee

the only bad point i would say was we were sloppy in possession, if we were up against everton we'd have been found out big style, but sometimes when poor sides don't close you down you make basic errors, worried about JD, he came off at HT and thats not common in EPL football unless you have an injury
