I was wrong.

If Harry learns anything from today its that he can't judge players without giving them a proper chance in the first team. I think its perfectly obvious that he can hold grudges against certain individuals. He clearly has issues with the fact that Pav still can't speak decent English and takes it as a sign of not being committed because he can never stop bringing it up. Pav proved today that football is really a universal language and once your on the pitch with like-minded team mates then your anybody's match. He has earned himself a place in the first team for the next couple of games at least and if he doesn't get put on the team-sheet against Bolton then it's just criminal.
Another thing that Harry should learn from today's game is that we don't need Crouchy all the time. We can win games from playing it on the floor even when it's under extremely difficult conditions and away from home. We are Spurs. We play it on the floor. We always have and to try to change that is just idiotic.

yeah good day out, played well on a dodgy pitch and i found 20 quid outside the ground lol
That maybe true but his finishing today was top notch and his workrate in the short time that he was on was terriffic.
I am choking on my humble pie here but Pav just needs to start from here on in. I like Crouch but am getting sick of watching him butcher chance after chance in games that we just have to win.
Plus, Pav scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Blackburn last year (ironically it was HR's first game as Manager and our first win for the season) at White Hart Lane......my only ever visit to the great stadium. So, believe it or not I actually do have a soft spot for the White Russian. Even moreso now after watching his teammates rally around him last night.![]()
Super Tottenham....from the Lane.
Not an easy game for Spurs with the terrible field conditions and a very credible result.
But, having said that, we were fortunate with the 1st goal that was clearly offside.
We were fortunate that Tom didn't get a red card for some of his late tackles.
We were fortunate to have seen 2 great saves from Gomes to keep us in the game.
We were fortunate that Spurs supporters took up Pavs case and clearly influenced Harry's decision to give him a run.
We were fortunate Harry put on Modric, when clearly those conditions would not normally suit a similar player.
We were fortunate that Pav rose to the occasion and scored 2 good goals.
Oh! happy days! Well done Spurs.
oh! and we were unfortunate to see King hobbling off the field and Crouch giving another inept and poor performance.
I think Pav deserved a lot of his criticism, he made a terrible start, but i think we, and the manager gave up on him too quickly.
How can a guy start playing better, if he only warms the bench. I think we should have nursed him back to good form by giving more time in games "already won" (9:1 with Wigan) or games already lost, or games of lower importance.
Also, I just wish Crouch got the same "criteria" as PAv got. By the same measure, Crouch has under performed and lowered the standard of the team also. But remains in the first 11.
I would like to see more of Pav, and I am happy for him to get a proper crack at the first 11. IF he doesn't produce to regular good performance then let him go.... but same must apply to Crouch.
C'mon Pav and Crouchy... raise it.
On a separate note, the love the team gave PAv at the final whistle brought a tear to my eye
C O Y S
Think u are a bit wrong on this mate!
With the pitch not suiting modric.
Yes of course he can play his best on a perfect pitch but modric got the advantage of knowing how to play on such a pitch because he used to play in the bosnian league where every pitch looks worse than the one of wigan and he always played great.
Super Tottenham! The Football World Is OURS!
KEVIN BOND ON WIGAN WIN:
Kevin Bond feels Sunday's win at Wigan could be a ‘significant' one for us.
Jermain Defoe's opener in the first half followed by Roman Pavlyuchenko's double off the bench in the second half secured the three points and lifted us back into fourth in the Barclays Premier League.
The nature of the victory particularly pleased the management as the lads rolled their sleeves up on a heavy pitch and scrapped it out against a team fighting against relegation.
"People had been suggesting that we hadn't been doing as well as we might have done recently so it was important that we put on a performance and on a difficult night, in difficult conditions, I thought we did exactly that," said assistant boss Kevin.
"It was great to get a win on the road like that. It was a big win and we need to keep performing well, getting results and the rest will take care of itself."
Roman stole the headlines with his late double and Kevin was delighted to see the Russian striker make his mark at the DW Stadium.
"He trained really well last week and the manager always had it in the back of his mind that he would introduce him at some stage at Wigan," he added. "He came on, made a real impact and he's no doubt given the manager plenty to think about."
Wigan cheer for Gomes
22 February 2010
Heurelho Gomes says it was vital to kick-off an important week with a win at Wigan on Sunday.
Jermain Defoe and Roman Pavlyuchenko's double strike after coming off the bench in the second half secured a 3-0 success in the Barclays Premier League encounter at the DW Stadium.
The win moved us back into fourth place after a busy Sunday in the league saw Villa hammer Burnley and City draw with Liverpool.
We now turn our attention back to the FA Cup and a fifth-round replay against Bolton at the Lane on Wednesday night. The winners travel to Fulham in the quarter-finals with a place at Wembley at stake - the semi-finals of the competition are at the national stadium.
After that it's another huge league game with in-form Everton at the Lane on Sunday.
Gomes was only really forced into serious action once at Wigan with a first-half tip over from Hugo Rodellaga as we battled through heavy conditions to record a fifth away victory of the campaign.
"It was a very important win for us," said Gomes. "It's a big week with Wigan, Bolton and Everton and when you win the first game like we did at Wigan it gives you a great feeling.
"It's not an easy place to go, conditions were difficult but we were strong in every tackle, kept winning the ball and deserved the win."
Gomes had praise for his defence after our 12th clean sheet of the campaign in all competitions. "It wasn't easy in those conditions," he said. "Normally the ball will bounce and come straight to you but this time when the ball bounced in front of you, anything could happen. It was all about concentration.
"We defended well again and it's important for us to keep another clean sheet. To play away from home and keep a clean sheet is always a fantastic feeling."
Concentration was the key word again for Gomes as he looked forward to Wednesday night's FA Cup replay against Bolton.
The original tie finished 1-1 at the Reebok as we came from 1-0 down via Jermain Defoe's strike, hit the woodwork twice and saw home goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen save a penalty from Tom Huddlestone.
"We know this will be a difficult game," added Gomes. "We didn't play well in the first half at Bolton but we played very well in the second half. We need to keep going now. We are in a great position and we need to try and progress further.
