im new on here and respects for the match report although i dont agree

with narrowing the tunnel to stop the bus so much as taking down the big sign that

must be saying, AWAY TEAMS WHO SHUT UP SHOP REAP DIVIDENDS, the 9-1

demolition of wigan has put paid to teams coming to the lane and having a go, apart

from the top 3 teams now turn up knowing full well if wolves, stoke, hull, can put

paid to our goal fest afternoons, wigan and Burnley never learned but since then

teams have been as you rightly say parking the bus, the proof of the pudding was the transformation in a matter of a few weeks to Fulham, at the cottage on boxing day had it not been for Gomez we would have been beaten by 2 or 3, yet even with couple of injuries in the ranks they were in very sterile contrast at the lane, but thats what we are going to see from now on, its respect for us and its another learning curve we have to overcome if we want to earn the right to be called a top 4 club
united, chelsea and the goons come up against it every home game and yes they do slip up occassionaly, but in the main they always come out on top. it was a frustrating afternoon against villa, we once again squandered great opportunities crouch twice and defoes miss at the end of the 1st half and a 2nd half of near misses and friedal standing firm, and although from my seat we should have had a clear penalty when defoe was brought down the undermining thought on my way home saturday night was if it hadnt been for gomes great double stop in the 1st half
we would have lost that game 1-0. Bentley played well but he never had that pace that lennon would have given us and i still dont think Defoe is looking comfortable living off of crouchys flick ons and scraps he needs those runs that lennon provides, lets hope hes back as reported next week, villa came for a draw and unfortunatly like a few teams of late are leaving the lane with rewards for their negativity.
