Playing ok. Pelacios is really solid for us. Other than that it's been a pretty uneventfull first half. We've spent a little too much of it wasting long balls away. As usual.

The other results kind of mean that we need to win this game to keep up them. Remember, if all scores stay the same Villa could effectively be point above us (if they win their game in hand).

Saying that, we've played well and probably deserve something on the balance of play. I've got to agree though, a massive disconnect between the strikers and the midfield. Maybe that's what Gudjohnsen is for...

The problem is that Defoe has looked lost as of late and Crouch keeps getting the wrong delivery.

And i thought going forward was meant to be what he was better at (than defending).....

Agree about Dawson - he has to iniate the play from the back - not fookin hoof it...

Crouch is not a starting type player - more impact sub (last 30 mins or so)
Defoe n crouch and midfield not linking too well...

i think w elook out of ideas cos we are not building the play - i.e. hoping Crouch gets onto the end of a long ball and with any luck JD is there to feed off it.
I don't think it's crouchs fault - but being that big he should be doin a bit more in the air - and dwas n co should start to use their footballing brains more..

Palacios, Modrić and THudd having a great game so far, Defoe and Crouch woeful.
All Bale and Bentley seem to be doing is crossing, no link-up no give-and-go, no double passes. We need at least one cross to come from the last five yards of the pitch. We cross too soon and too often.
Boring, predictable.
We're bossing the game until the final third where either the continuous crosses go astray or the strikers can't seem to corral the ball.
One or both of the strikers needs to go out.

it just shows how well we played earlier on in the season, when we had Keane partnering Defoe. He may not have been playing well, but at least his inclusion was making the team play better.

Im listening to the game on the radio, and by the sounds of it, we've looked pretty good....



Edit: 1 good game in 10?? you're joking right!! hes been very good for the last 3 or so now, and you're now bashing him because in 1 half of football some of his crosses were a bit off.....blimey......

Agreed. I've been down on Bale in the past, but he's playing pretty well right now...and it's not like we have a ton of options in the back anyway.
