It's been my life, Tottenham Hotspur;
and I love the Club
Absolutely gutted by that. It is tough enough in Australia to have to watch games at 2AM every week without watching us piss points up against the wall every other game. The really galling thing is that we dominated Birmingham for 80 minutes and then gave them an open invitation to come in and steal 2 points. Why can't we continue to play the way that got us the lead in the first place? This happens all the time. Reckon we should be 9 points better off than we are (last night, Everton, Wolves, Hull where we dropped points that we should not have dropped).
Anyway, my player ratings:
Gomes - 7 - did his job, not really tested. Looking a bit better under the high ball.
Bale - 7.5 - good game. Improving every week to the point where BAE might struggle to win his spot back. Has enormous upside.
King - 7 - made a couple of quality interceptions and tackles.
Dawson - 6.5 - solid, made a couple of errors, one where he completely stuffed up the offside trap but recovered well to block the shot.
Corluka - 6 - worked well with Bentley on the right but was under pressure defensively at times.
Palacios - 8.5 - quality performance. Almost his best game in Spurs colours. Tough, tackled beatifully and gave us another dimension going forward.
Huddlestone - 5 - quiet, did some nice things but was not involved.
Modric - 6.5 - should have scored early, was very quiet in the first half but had a very good second half. Looks dangerous when he has the ball and is almost impossible to tackle.
Bentley - 9 - outstanding performance. Not sure what to do when Lennon is fit because Bentley has been first rate for us. Was dangerous every time he had it, was constantly in the play and a general menace down the right hand side. Delivery was high quality at times.
Crouch - 6 - nice flick on for the Defoe goal and worked hard but not his best peformance.
Defoe - 7 - worked really hard and put himself about. Rewarded with a fine goal.
Keane, Jenas - no rating.
Not sure why we didn't use Kranjcar and Harry now has a problem in that he has to try and fit Bentley and Lennon into the side. If Bentley continues as he did last night, he can no longer sit on the pine and Lennon is a star who must play when fit again. Harry might look to offload somebody like Jenas as he is surplus to requirements in the midfield now.
Super Tottenham....from the Lane.
Jenas may have been marmite before; but surely now he's run out of any support? I'm fed up of moaning about him as I've been doing the past couple seasons and the lad can't even come on for a couple minutes and do the task he was set.
On the other hand I've always hoped Bentley would get his confidence back and the same goes for Keane (although it's not looking as promising there).

Are you kidding? Yes he was good at times, but he also slowed down our counters a couple of times, screwed up as many good chances as he made. His premature crossing drove me mad.
I agree on most of your ratings but Bentley would get maybe a 6.5 from me. Another good effort but still needs some games under his belt to get the rhythm.
I DISAGREE I THOUGHT THUDD DID VERY LITTLE CORLUKA WAS SHOCKING, WATCHED THEM MOST OF THE GAME THEY LOOKED AS IF THEY HARDLY BROKE A SWEAT.WE NEED A REAL BOSS IN MIDFIELD THAT WILL B******K DEFENDERS WHO HOOF THE BALL WHEN NOT NEEDED . THAT WAY WE CAN LINK PLAY, THEN BRING IN ATTACKIN FULL-BACKS.
I don't want Harry out but he needs to learn from these tipe of games. The same thing hapens to us all the time and he changes nothing. Put some atacking force in wen we are in the lead by one goal but noooo he always does nothing in those situations and it frustrates me much. More than the games we loose clean...
