Just seen how Paraguay , Ghana and also Argentina have been welcomed home as heros .
This is all about managing your expectations , I mean the entire Paraguay team got medals for getting to the quarter final stage for the first time .
Our media have to shoulder the blame for the huge let-down , all they are interested in is building everyone up only to dump them down again . This is a normal template for them .
( Well , that and the fact that we were crap)
Still , it was good to see the receptions those teams got .
Love em one day.. Hate em the next..
Yeah that was a big achievement for Paraguay.. and Ghana ,
Ghana should have progressed. . .
Roman Pavlyuchenko - The Second Coming
2012-2013 Season, Return of the King.
I would welcome home the players who played the best.
That only leaves Gerrard, Defoe and the 12th man.
Reporter: "What is it like to score against the best team in the world [Barcelona]?".
Jake Livermore: "Score against the best team in the world??? I play for them [TOTTENHAM]."
It would be such a special moment for the England team to be invited to Buckingham Palace holding the World Cup with the Queen.
The nation would have been lifted up and walked on air. The England team should be ashamed of themselve's and made to apologise. I say boo them next season. Not the Tottenham players tho'.
Didnt think to much of gerrard, was good in 1 game, but was an absolute joke when it mattered against the Germans.
Failure once is sometimes understandable, what i think really gets on peoples wicks is that England never deliver and fail time and time again. I wouldnt mind never seeing these players ever pull on an England Shirt again:
James
Ferdinand
Terry
Gerrard
Swp
Walcott
G.Johnson
Upson
Heskey (Wheeyy 1 down)
and perhaps even Barry, England need massive massive change and the only way this can be done is with young players, i dont expect anything for Euro2012, but i would rather go out in the group stages with a bunch of kids than go out in the quarters with a bunch of wasters like these.
You can't drink all day unless you start in the morning
In Mexico the only player who got the worst of it was Ricardo Osorio for making that mistake that lead to the second goal his mom was threatened but they caught the bastard so that's good news.
None of the players wanted to speak to the press at least none of the ones who had the right to be at the world cup each one of them I know it wanted to speak against Aguirre but it could shake up their careers so they kept silent.
mexico is good they are just unlucky but the problem this year was a lack of a skilled striker, hernandez is nice as a player but the others were weird and i did not trust them
also blanco was too old what was he doing, he looked like a normal guy in a pub, he did not look too athletic
overall mexico will improve, there is many good youngsters like guardado and giovani, the only sad thing is that marquez will probably be really old
---
england must keep faith in youngsters, also they were punished for not experimenting enough, most of the players are just from the same big clubs, never taking a chance on quality players like zamora, ashley young, joe hart, scott parker, even carlton cole could be better than heskey for petes sake
i always defend the english league because it is my favourite but when people see the english style they see the national team and it is overrated and bloated
there is too many mediocre players disguised as good players
here is a good 11 for england
gk - joe hart
rb - richards
cb - dawson
cb - terry
lb - warnock
dm - thudd
cm - milner
cm - scott parker
rw - lennon
st - rooney
lw - young
that is a much more balanced team, you need a good balance of chiefs and indians, england has too many chiefs
btw do not make fun of warnock he is a reliable player and he does not create a media frenzy he is a normal bloke
