I read recently that chelsea got a bid for Aguero rumored to total 100mm Euros rejected.
That got me thinking, if I were to bid 100mm for a player, who would I get? Definitely someone young and proven at the highest level. Aguero fits the profile, but what about Pato?
I watched this brasilian samba kid when he first came onto the world stage. Then he signed for AC Milan and he kind of reminded me of the old Shevchenko, no not the one who never arrived at Chelsea. The Dynamo Kiev monster who was scoring goals like mad. Pato reminded me so much of him. I thought he would be a star.
True enough, today he is the top striker in the AC Milan team, which is crumbling by the way. He is bound to move sooner or later, but who the heck can afford to buy him. R.Madrid is all spent out, so that leaves Chelsea. And the day the blues get him, I worry for our London derby.
I would suggest Spurs get him, but Levy won't ever sign off on a mega signing when we aren't established in the CL. Watch the kid Pato, due for greatness yet.
Personally, I wouldn't spend €100m on ANY player - perhaps Messi, but then he just signed a new contract with Barca & his release clause his nearer €250m!!
Personally, I think Chelsea are chicken oriental if they go anywhere near Aguero for that price. I know he's young, & he's undoubtedly talented, but I've sen him too much recently to sweet FA both for club & country & is he even suited to the Prem? i can see him having a real hard time Away against Blackburn or someone (altho he will have Drogba or Anelka alongside him swatting away the opposition)

100 mil euro's , where do they dream up these price tags . Your right bassk you would have to be mental to part with that much money for a player .
messi if i had to choose but like bass said i would never buy a player for 100mill Modric maybe lol
100m could still be a good investment, the 80m spent on Ronaldo is rumored to have been recovered already via increased marketing income. They sold an incredible additional 450,000 shirts in the week he signed ...........
“Show class, have pride, and display character. If you do, winning takes care of itself.”
It will be a very very very very very long time before we see Spurs sign anyone thats even close to 30million let alone 100million.
In order for a club to thump up 100 million for a player, they must be sure that the player is excellent and unique. Cristiano fits that bill - he chops defenders apart with his flair and free-kick expertise. Messi (I agree with others) is another one...but Aguero?
I wish I was his agent...one deal and I'm minited for life
Well, I think buying players for any price makes it worthwhile only if you can possibly recoup the cost. If it IS true that the 80m has been recoup through shirt sales, then I'd say Real has made a good deal. A profitable one which is what it all boils down to.
Now for a player to be worth that much, there has to be marketing value. Beckham had it, Cristiano .... not really but enough. Messi or Aguero? Don't think so, too young and too quiet. Its like ryan giggs in a mtv commercial, just wouldn't work you see.
that's what, £91m. That's silly money, however saying that, how much did Ronaldo go for?
look whos had the most successful career giggs or beckham but whos made the most money
just shows while beckham was out selling brylcream giggs was on the training ground
Actually I think the actual transfer offer was about €40m. The rest would be wages, agents' fees etc.
COME ON YOU SPURS!!!
