According to a danish site, Gago is unsettled at Bernabeu, and might try to force a transfer in January in an attempt to better his WC chances.
Bearing in mind that this may be a rumour and nothing more, how would you rate this guy at The Lane?
I think he could be that hard working box-to-box midfielder that Jenas isn't .... I'd love to see him and Palacios together tbh.

Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?
for sure, we need a replacement for Pav. Would Gago be content to warming our bench and playing second fiddle to Defoe, Keane & Crouch?
LOL!!
Anyways, he joins a long list of CM/DM that we have discussed.
De La Red quit playing due to a heart problem mate.
He didnt quit he is out for the season.
On October 30, 2008, de la Red was hospitalized after collapsing during a cupmatch against real Unión. He suffered an effort syncope.[3] On December 12, the club announced the player would be missing the rest of the campaign as a precaution; and some subsequent media reports claimed that he might never recover from his heart condition.
In late June 2009, after further tests proved inconclusive, de la Red has been confirmed to miss the entire 2009-2010 season as well, also being scheduled for tests every two months to monitor his situation. On 2 July, the club confirmed the news through its official website After new Madrid signing Raul Albiol was given the number 18, previously worn by de la Red, the defender promised giving the shirt number back to de la Red once he eventually makes a return.
Still heard that despite it all, he is going to never play again. Its hardly worth the risk.
Probably trying to eat up as much money from his contract as possible!
All kinds of stories are comming out of the wood work now that the window is winding down....yet another.....we are linked w/ Fernando Gago. On the surface it makes alot more sense than some other deals we have been linked with. Take it as you will.......
"Tottenham will return to Real madrid to enquire about a defensive midfielder but not Lassana Diarra.
Diarra – or 'Lass' as he is known in the Spanish capital – has been the subject of Spurs' interest since the end of last season but having been quoted a price of £18m they have switched attention to one of his team mates. Fernando Gago has been plagued with injury this season with a troublesome knee problem restricting him to just a handful of outings. While he has now fully recovered, his continual absences has also seen him slip down the pecking order with Xabi Alonso and Sami Khedira both established in the team while he also has the twin threats of Lass and his namesake Mahamadou Diarra.
Spurs are well aware of his position and while they naturally harbour concerns about Gago's knee, they are aware that - when fit and firing – that the 24-year-old is a stylish and effective footballer. Having not featured in the Champions League this season, the Argentine has the added bonus of not being cup-tied for the knockout stages of the competition unlike some of Spurs' other options.
It is not known how kind of transfer Gago command for but it would be substantially less than the €20m that took him to the Bernabeu from Boca Juniors in 2006."
I'd well take Gago as an option. Outrageously good passing and ball retention (something Harry was complaining about), a non stop engine and likes to tackle.
Knee injury?? Gross
