Tottenham want to sign England keeper Ben Foster | The Sun |Sport|Football

IMO Foster would be a good replacement for Carlo, who could be out for a long time and he is no youngster to make a full comeback after such serious injuries.

Foster is still young for a keeper and with Parks coaching him he could be a good buy at 6m. Whenever I see Foster playing he looks a nervous wreck and if it is a confidence thing, then Parks has done wonders for Gomes.

I still see Gomes as our No 1 but if Foster started to challenge for that shirt, we would have two brilliant shot stoppers.

IMO James is a non starter.

Great keeper in the making me thinks, trouble is he may take a different option and needs to be No1 keeper to fulfill his world cup ambitions, not sure we can give him that.

Not much to choose from though is there as we are bereft in this country of great keepers for some reason, can you suggest a better prospect?

We could always bring him in and loan him out , two premiership 1st team goalkeepers would be ok . We could keep Lee Butcher as cover now he's back from a loan spell . The reason i say this is because i think the reserve/second choice goalkeeper should be getting first team football/experience . Unless Gomez gets Injured or sent off then Butcher could see out the rest of any 1 game . Then we could re-call Foster if need be .

I think your spot on kev! Buy him and then loan him out would be the only option really. He wants 1st team football and im sorry but his not going to get in front of gomes.
      My favourite spurs player!

I can see what your saying swanny but he is 3rd choice there so even if Van de Sar gets injured , he's still on the bench .

Green reminds me of Robbo when his confidence was shot, terrible at calling and coming for the ball

With our goal keeping coaches and our Arry, Spurs could be Fosters first choice and his making. But as you say Swanny he would be the No 2 and that won't get him to the WCF.
But as you say there is not a lot of good keepers out there and available and the right side of 30. Who would be available in January.
