Before anyone goes mental and shizzle, I am fully aware that wikipedia should never be trusted, especially when it comes to football but when I was reading about Sandro . . . .
Well look for yourselves.
Sandro Ranieri Guimarães Cordeiro - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
No smoke without fire and that.

I'll get the extinguisher quick, well spotted that man

If that is true, £16m is a lot of money.
I dont know enough about him though, is he worth that kind of cash?
i doubt contrast would, but could be well spotted cos he wrote it![]()
Haha! Thought someone would mention that.
Genuinley just stumbled across it, but that doesn't mean that someone else could of added randomly added it . . .
The thing about Wikipedia is it could easily be changed with truths or untruths. I'll be taking the paragraph with a pinch of salt until it has been officially confirmed in January.
I'm still not convinced by Sandro.
I've watched a lot of Inter recently & I really struggle to see what he does. I have to admit, most of what I'm watching is highlights & it is in Portuguese, so its not easy to spot him even when he is doing something. Also, they don't appear to wear any set number in Brazil or even have their names on their shirts (not always anyway) just to make him tougher to spot.
Thing is, & I know he sits very deep, but you look at his stats & in 37 starts for Inter this season he has had 0 assists, just 3 shots, 2 on target of which only 1 went in. Makele springs to mind but he still managed more than that, in less starts & in the Premiership!!
My problem is, I just haven't seen anything to suggest why we're interested, let alone Real Madrid, Barcelona & Inter. The other day against Santos he just let their AM run off him to set up Neymar for Santos's only goal of the game.
However, he was named amongst the 6 most promising youngsters recently on the TV show "Foot Brazil" but even they could only show that 1 bit of footage of him scoring his only goal this season, whereas the other DM they named, Sousa, had 30 seconds+ of tough tackling & scrapping for the ball, shots from distance and stuff.
Dunga did give him 20 whole minutes in a WCQ against their biggest rivals, Chile. Dunga must certainly know a good DM when he sees one & to play Sandro in that game for a reasonable amount of time & it was already 2-2 when Sandro came on, with Chile having fought back from 2-0, so they were hardly cruising away with the victory. They won 4-2 in the end.
Here he is playing for Inter last year against Ipatinga. He is wearing No.8 & sets up the 1st goal & scores the 3rd. Nothing particularly special tho:
Inter v Ipatinga
Here he scores Inter's 2nd in a 2-2 draw with Atletico Mineiro. Again, nothing special:
Inter v Atletico MG
And here is his goal for Brazil against Venezuela. It's Brazil's 3rd & this one is quite a nice finish, altho it is for their U20s:
Brazil v Venezuela
So, I'm not sure...

Feel exactly the same, but there must be a reason why such big numbers are being quoted and such big teams involved. . . .
Makelele used to be the same though . . . . and as you said about Sandro, he sat very, very deep. Can't remember him bagging too many goals, or even coming forward to create anything. . .
Levy wouldn't shell out on a muppet, and Harry wouldn't recommend one either.

I still dunno.
My concern is that he had a decent 1st season but that's it. When I 1st saw him play last year I thought he did look good (those Ipatinga & Atletico games were both last season) but I've not seen much from him at all this season, deffo not enough to warrant us splashing out £16m!!
I don't want us buying players on the basis that there has to be something about them just because Barca are looking at them! When Santos scored the other night, Sandro was shocking, I would go mental if he did that at Spurs, especially having just forked out that sort of money.
Inter themselves have been poor recently & their win on the weekend was really needed. altho I think they may have already fluffed their place in the Copa Libertadores. That win got them back into 4th place but they are level on points with Atletico in 5th place & their next game is Away to . . . Atletico! Should be interesting.

I heard about some kind of partnership done with a brazillian club not so long ago about farming players for us and so on, didn't really pay much attention to it, this muct be the action starting to happen![]()
Our partnership is with Internacional, Sandro's club, but if we do get the kid, it won't be anything to do with the arrangement itself. All that means is that negotiations between us & Inter should be easy due to our good relationship. The 'farming out' players bit is more having youngsters come & train with us for a week, just like when those South African boys from Supersport came over here last year.
