there is some quality players out of contract next summer,why dont we try and sign at least a couple,take a look at who is available free transfers available for summer 2010

that list has got to be cr@p, Cole and Chamakh would not be leaving on frees, never mind that the middlesborough chairman has said adam will be signing a new long term contract

Pandev has had a huuuuuuuuge falling out at Lazio. He will deffo be up for grabs in the summer. I don't see why we don't do what we did with Niko and offer them £2m in Jan before every club in the world goes after him in the summer.
I think that with how bad Pandev's relationship is with Lazio, he's a good shout. Bring him in to replace Robbie Keane.
Marquez wont go anywhere, nor will Cole. Not on free's anyway. Theres over 6 months left until the summer.
If Adam Johnson's indeed refusing to sign a new deal at 'boro, sign him up.
We've been linked (from the list) with Joe Cole, Pandev, Chamakh and Kuranyi. Unless we win a Champions League place, we will get none of those. Therefore it's likely we'll be in a good position to sign Zavon Hines or Kris Boyd. Yeah not big names, but, nor are we a big club...yet

A) I never said that Spurs would sign Hines or Boyd but lets face it, we're not going to sign the likes of Pandev, Joe Cole, or Chamakh. If anyone wants that to happen then let them do so on Football Manager 2010.
B) Are we a big club? if so, why didn't the likes of Arjen Robben, VDV and Van Nistlerooy sign with us from Real Madrid. Lets face the facts, we're not a big club so stop deluding yourself.
Pandev and Chamakh... why cant we get them? They aren't too big for us! Pandev plays for Lazio, Chamakh play for Bordeux (and has been linked a lot with West Ham) What are you basing us having no chance with them on?

Tottenham Hotspur is a big club. The problem is we have never played in the Champions League. But if Harry keeps doing a good job, come January we will be in the top 6 and hopefully not far from top 4. Then some of these players can reconsider.
And if they don't want to join us, big deal! But I still wouldn't go for the likes of Boyd and Hines. Just will promote youth talent from our Academy.

We have every chance of signing the likes of Pandev/Chamakh etc.
I really wish people would stop f-ing talking crap like this. I understand why people do, every window we get our hopes up thinking we're gonna get some big name only for us to get 'snubbed' & the player sign for some Euro super-power.
But come on, its not like we're talking Ronaldo or Kaka!! There is always the chance that we might sign an international star. We are still a big club & we have plenty to offer, it is just about finding the right person, at the right time & selling ourselves in the right way.
Signing big names on the free makes it even easier for us as it allows us to bump up our wages and, I know we have a salary cap, if the right player came along & said they would sign then we would push the cap up a little bit, I'm sure of it.
A player like Pandev won't care too much about the money right now. If we are competing for Europe, that'll be god enough for him & what he'll really want, after his experience with Lotito, is a club to show how much they want him. I dunno about a replacement for Robbie, they're quite different players, but for Pava - deffo!
Also, they've missed Maxi Rodriguez off that list. He is another great player who is almost certain to leave his club for free this summer.
We don't have to 'get our hopes up' but we shouldn't completely dismiss ourselves either. Klinsmann came to us when we were on a real downward slope, & Ginola came when we were real mid-table wonders. If we can get those sorts of players back then, then we can get them now - it is just very difficult to sign top players & 1 small thing going wrong can be enough to make us lose out, but then that doesn't make it impossible.
We have to keep aiming high & going for top players. For a start it shows ambition & sends a message of intent both to our rivals, to our own players, to our fans & to our other targets. Also, if we just keep trying, then sooner or later we'll get one of them!

I consider Tottenham Hotspur a step up compared to the current Lazio team . . . . Why wouldn't Pandev want to join a Premiership club with Champions League aspirations, a chairman that doesn't mind pulling out money for big signings and a club with one of the largest fanbases in the World . . .
i'd take ballack on a short term deal, he is strong, experienced world cup winner, box-to-box, can tackle, is a winner and, although he doesnt score as many as he did in germany, can score goals
joey cole as well, isnt it true they can speak to other clubs in january, joey with his skill, pace and goalscoring ability
go on harry, my son, do over chelski and get them two in!!!!
