This is the boy we need to buy to back up Wilson. Sadly, we may have missed our chance because, by failing to cough up the few extra mill necessary, he has stayed at Toulouse and been in scintillating form. Now some of the big guns have started to take notice & it is believed that Manchester City might be preparing a £20m bid in January, as well as Italian giants Inter Milan.

I would be GUTTED if the boy went to City. For a start I don't think he is what they need & I don't think they are what he needs. They have plenty of midfielders of his ilk at the club already whereas we don't, we, in fact, are desperate for someone like him. Inter too have plenty, altho most are over-the-hill geriatrics & at least 1 looks likely to move in January anyway, so that might be where he ends up. Not to mention his older brother is playing in Italy & that might swing things in Inter's favour.

However, the lad himself has stated his desire to play in the Premiership & if we manage to get a bid accepted in January, I would not be surprised if he came. I would take him anyday & if we are prepared to stump up £14m for Sandro, then we surely should be able to fork out the little extra needed for Moussa as, imo, he is by far the better player.

This is pretty normal for Spurs, find a good player, scout him, don't pay enough for him then a bigger club snaps them up 6 months later.

I would be gutted if he ends up at City, would prefer him to go Munich or Inter if not us.

Sissoko won't be going anywhere in January, & neither will his 2 club mates (both also linked with Spurs over the summer) Cheikh M'Bengue & Etienne Capoué, as all 3 have signed new contracts with Toulouse to keep them at the club until 2013.

Whilst I am a little gutted that we have failed to get our hands on the youngster, I am actually pretty happy that he has signed with Toulouse rather than anyone else. Our opportunity was in the summer but they would not sell. Since then Europe's big players have been alerted to his talent & it was far more likely that he would head to Inter, Juve, Bayern or even City if he was to leave in January.

Sissoko going nowhere
