Its a tenuous link, at best, but I can see sense in it. Kuranyi's club, Schalke, are reporting major financial difficulties & many now suspect a fire-sale in January. Add to that the fact that Kuranyi's contract with them will be up in the summer & he almost certainly looks to be on his way out. So, there is a possible bargain to be had there.

Kuranyi himself has blown hot & cold over the years but he has started this season in cracking form & will consequently be the subject of much interest, including the Premier League. Spurs have looked at him before, as have Villa, & his nose for goal could well prove an attractive prospect for Harry, especially if we lose Roman.

I'm not Kuranyi's biggest fan but, I will concede, when he is on form he certainly knows where the net is - & we could do with some more of that at the moment. We've certainly not really had a proper "fox-in-the-box" since Lineker, & Kuranyi could be just that & his goalscoring record (for both club & country) speaks for itself. He has CL experience, plenty of it, WC experience & has maintained a 1 in 2 average throughout his entire career, at every level. Its just in those games when he doesn't score he can be very ineffective, that's my gripe.

      Kuranyi Pt 1

Apparently Rafinha and Ivan Rakitic are also part of that fire-sale. I'd have them in a heartbeat if it wasn't for our plethora of Right Backs and Attacking Midfielders at the club.

Could you elaborate on that point please? Are you saying that it would make him integrate into the team better or am i getting it wrong?

A compelling point, rich and full of meaning. *coughs*

Is manuel neuer (sp?) there still? He seems a very good keeper although United are supposedly interested. They've got Farfan too havnt they? Hows he doing?

Apologies if i missed the point of the link... my computer was running so excruciatingly slowly i didnt even try opening the link!

yeah, Jefferson Farfan is there, altho he is not mentioned as part of the possible sales. He is doing OK but not amazing.

I would love to get Neuer in as our number 2, that would be awesome, but there are bigger names than us looking at him. However, I can't see him settling for a number 2 spot since he recently won the number 1 shirt at Schalke. They're also a CL team, so if he was to take a back seat, it surely would have to be at a club already in that competition. Anyway, I have a feeling that Schalke will try to hang onto him also just because he is so young. Kuranyi is certain to leave & they will try to get a decent amount for him.

Tbh, I can see Kuranyi doing well at Spurs. He would bring something different to our other striker, a poacher & excellent in the air, but whether we will look at him again is just speculation.

As far as I know he is a very similar player to Pava plus he speaks a bit of English. But I don't think he would settle for the 4th choice in the pecking order...

      1. Neuer will be much better than Gomes in the future. In many eyes he is the best german goalkeeper...better than Adler, too! His goalkeeper coach (right word?!) is the former coach of Oliver Kahn. He has great impact on the game, good throws and astonishing reflexes. In the near future there will be no better keeper than him. And I don't say that because I'm German. I support the English Squad

      2. Kuranyi is a phenomenon, but that's not well-intentioned. He only scores easy goals and most of the time he does not score any goal at all. After some while there comes a game against a benign team and then he scores 2 oder 3 goals and is presented as the hero. In fact, he isn't a good striker at all. In recent time he was moved to the bench, because of his ineffectivity. Trust me, that's a reason why he doesn't play for the national team anymore.

Kuranyi is a decent player to be honest but I do have to agree, he scores easy goals and when he does get a good one, it always seems to be lucky or from a keeping howler. Saying that though, it would change spurs a lot and give an extra option. Scoring isn't something that's easy in the premier league and he may well struggle but every team needs someone who can score the easy goals every now and again, plus he seems to get more headers on target than Crouchy does these days.

As long as he comes for a bargin deal, it'll be a good buy, but over spending for him wouldn't be in best interest, would it?

I supose all players have off days, lol.

He looks like he can finish an easy goal though, which is always a good thing, maybe Redknapp can get the best out of him?

Lineker used to score 'easy goals' also. Sadly, we do not have a player at Spurs right now who can score easy goals.

I do agree with you about Kuranyi, as I said before, but you cannot escape his goal record, easy or not, he does score.
