You dont just lose it overnight . He's having a blip , and he'll recover before the window opens . Torres is running rings round most defenders - but i think it was the England mistake thats haunting him .
He has had a big film project going and its probably affecting his concentration . He should drop that on its head and concentrate on his carreer for now . Hobbies are for when your football carreer is over . Michael Owen has a big interest in horses and i see that as a major distraction to his football . The only reason that SAF doesn't see it as a distraction is because he owns racehorses too .

A quality CD no doubt even if he is going through a rough patch ... the obvious concern is who does SAF want going the other way? Modric? Bassong? Lennon?

Recent injuries and poor form make it a bit of an iffy proposition in my opinion, but talent and experience could easily outweigh that. Biggest hurdle for us is wages I think, if the 130.000 a week is anywhere near correct, Levi will never allow it to happen.
All in all I'd rather see another slightly less glamorous but stable CD come in, if for nothing else for the sake of "equal" competition for the spots in defense (no more prima donnatovs ever please!), and then that brazillian guy Sandro for DM.

I feel sorry for the lad if he is reading this forum...it's like Man City mentioning that they want to sign Kaka and Craig Bellamy a year ago...all the focus was on Kaka, but not Craig...
He's a great CB, better than Terry and would be partnering King in the England defence if the guy was fully fit. I'd love him at WHL, but he's getting on a bit now and will eventually loose that yard of pace which can make all the difference. If his wages and transfer fee were acceptable, I wouldn't say no.
