Quo Vadis? To Tottenham

It seems as tho Harry is gunning for a new DM this January. Sadly it seems as tho our chances of bringing Moussa Sissoko to the UK are gone as the boy has been flying for Toulouse this season & has attracted much more interest from abroad with Juve & Inter the latest 2.

We were linked heavily with Brazilian Sandro, which may still happen, but I still cannot see how we will get a work permit for the 20 year old, even with his recent call up.

However, reports are coming thru that we are scouting Belgian sensation Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe ( Odjidja-Ofoe, he's a Yiddo!! That'll work!). Vadis came thru the youth system at Anderlecht before being snapped up 2 years ago by Hamburg. However, despite being just 18, he wasn't prepared to sit around & wait for his chance & when Club Brugge came in for him last January, he was on his way. Since then he has been playing regularly for the Belgian club & has been kicking up quite a storm. A host of clubs are said to be monitoring his progress & Tottenham are known to be amongst them.

He is only 20 but he is known for his hard tackles & energetic displays which have earned him a recent call up to the Belgian national team. Here he is scoring a cracker for Belgium U19 against England last year:

I think he can play either as a CB or a DM. He plays DM normally for Brugge, or so I hear, & he is playing in the midfield in the above clip also by the looks of it, but I too heard that he can play CB also

Yeah, but the club was different back then & Clive has moved our player development structure on tenfold. Harry will get much more out of such a player. In fact, it was Harry who took Kaboul off our hands & he immediately looked twice the player he was at Spurs once he'd moved to Pompey.

I agree to an extent, but this kid has plenty of big clubs hovering around him at the moment & he won't be at Brugge much longer

Do we need another midfielder? When fit I think we have pretty good competition for places in the middle of the park between Lennon, the Hudd, Palacios and either Kranjar or Modric as 1st's then jenas, bentley..... actually one more for cover couldn't hurt lol

Now that I name them out loud it seams that we'd need one more to make sure we had 4 with 4 cover, gunna need all the firepower we can get with the el champo leagueo coming up

We need cover/help for Willy.

Willy brings on our team so much it is untrue. His sterling work allows our players to express themselves further up the field not fearing the consequences if they cant get back as quick.

I have said this time and time again that it is no coincidence that the arrival of Willy and the resurgence in form of our side and noticeably BEA was no accident.

He is one big hard insurance policy for the flair/attacking players when they go in search of a goal.

He slows the oppositions advances allowing our lads to get the fat lazy arses back into position. we then defend and regain possession setting up another attack.

This is why Arry is still on the hunt for another in the same mold as Big Willy.

Arry is still trying to bring JJ and more so Thud on is this manner but they are both a bit too poncy. But look at the improvement in both of their games thus far with those tactics in mind.

it doesn't matter how many midfielders we have, more about the quality. We have bought quite a few "young" players in the last few years and not one is in the first team and playing like a world class midfielder. Yes it takes time but why don;t we splash a few quid out on a world class centre mid. Hudd, Jenas, O'Hara are good players but would not fit into a top 4 teams starting midfiels line (possible the bench). They are perfect backup players and would fit the perfect squad.

If we do start signing some players we've also got to keep in mind the new law next season. 25 man squad. If we buy one, we've gotta sell one.

I saw him twice against Hamburg. He was by far the worst player in the whole squad! Maybe he was too young, but he never had any chance at any time.
