New CB???

With Ledley King out with a groin injury, Woodgate and Dawson also both struggling for fitness, do you think Harry will be tempted to bring in another CB, and if so, who do you fancy??

I saw an article on Sky Sports news the other day from Roy Hodgson saying he's suprised no-body's bid for Brede Hangeland... Would be a good buy, but probably cost us about 10mil!

I dont think we can have another full time CB with the amount of players we already have in that position so it has to be a newby that would step down when the big boy Ledders is fit = so osman chavez is my favourite too .

Sure you can buy a new CB but that will mean Dawson will leave. Also Bassong/Woodgate would have to settle for a spot on the bench when they are both fit. Its going to be difficult as it is with our current defenders to keep them happy let alone another one.

I agree, buying another CB will make it diffificult to keep all of them happy. A loan deal for Chavez is likely. Though Corluka and Bassong in centre with Hutton/Naughton on the right isn't a bad option afterall

especially after watching the second half of the birmingham game, i dont think corluka is a cb player. When christian benitez came on, he ran circles around corluka and could of scored a few himself.

Depending on how long Woody, Daws and King are out for should determine if we need to sign a new player. When these three are fit we will have 4 cb to chose from, 3 rb and 2 lb. Why do we need new players. If anyone Oscar Chavez on loan to see what he has got.

Dawson was going to be sold in the summer but stayed because of injury - however come january he will be allowed to leave for pastures new. Redknap remains unconviced about King and Woodgates fitness in the long-run and so is looking for a fourth
CB.

There are rumours of a phone call to Upton Park to enquire after Upson (about £12million came the reply!) and also of a cheeky enquiry after Puyol, who was rumoured to be available for £8-10million.

Whilst I think King and Woodgate are quality players I think we definately need another class CB as they are both likely to spend some time on the sidelines over the season. I would be more than happy with either of the above two possibilities.

Where's all this from mate? Or they just your predictions?

I think Dawson is a great 3rd/4th choice. Woodgate, Bassong, Ledley, Woodgate = strongest CB selection in the premier league when all are fit. Corluka is an okay 5th choice.

Upson & Puyol? Allowing Dawson to leave?

We are going to go all out for Chavez, who can play at LB also & is the perfect cover for BAE/Bassong during the African Cup of Nations. We will get him on a loan & then, if he has a good season, we'll make it permanent next summer. Clear as day.

Why would we sign a Hangeland/Upson type, when we have 4 top class Cb's who when fit would all be wanting first team? As good as Hangeland is i dont think 'Arrys gona be look at any well known Cb's... Osman Chavez it is
