Tottenham Hotspur defensive flop Gareth Bale is set to leave the club on a temporary loan deal and join up with crisis club Newcastle United according to reports in the city's regional press. Bale is currently injured, however, the in-form Benoit Assou Ekotto could reduce the former Southampton player's first team opportunities.
The reports suggest that a loan deal was discussed for Bale and youngster Daniel Rose who impressed for England's Under-21's this summer.
The Welsh international left-back has yet to be on the winning side with Spurs in any league match in which he has participated.

"Modric could play in any team in the world in my opinion, he's a fantastic footballer, top, top class."
will have to be a 6 monther as we're going to need him when bae and bassong head. off to the african cup of nations.
would be good to give both of them an opportunity for first team football, im sure all our young players out on loan are going to benefit from proper competitive games.
Great move imo as Newcastle will be defending for their lives this season.
good to see bale go on loan but wouldnt it be better if he stayed in the premier league. Some team like birmingham??
or maybe actually winning some games at newcastle would be better???
Chris Houghton denied this Bale to Newcastle link 2day, but wiv his Spurs connections he culd pull this 1 off.

I still think we need Bale as cover on the left flank whether it's left back or left mid. Don't forget ekotto is going to the African cup thing at some point this season.
This loan deal could just hinge on the O'Hara deal with Birmingham. O'Hara can also play left back, and if sold, could see Bale staying. If O'Hara goes, maybe, just maybe, an ideal loan of Bale to Newcastle. Spurs would benefit because of the first team experience he would be receiving..
The O'Hara and Bale deals are a load of guff...........
im sorry, but there will hardly be any transfer activity from us, possibly with only one coming in.........
According to the match report Bale is out with a foot injury...so Newcastle signing Bale...I agree, a no-er![]()
Big O cant go surely!!!
Utility player that can fill lots of gaps throughout the season.
Good player to have around IMO.
Bale cant go if O'Hara goes. There is no left wing/left back cover.

yeah have to agree,we cant lose that many leftsided players in one go,arry has said jamie as good as gone till xmas to pompy.was bale even on the bench the other night?.anyone else thinking arry has something big up his sleeve, either that or he might use gio as cover for the left, not sure hes played there b4,either way arrys no fool hes not going to move players unless he has cover lined up.
