0910 BST: Tottenham are looking to hijack West Ham's bid to sign Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni. Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has targeted the 32-year-old after missing out on Klaas-Jan Huntelaar who has joined AC Milan from Real Madrid, while West Ham are unlikely to be able to meet Toni's £90,000-a-week wage demands.
Full story: Clubcall
... wonder if we're gonna meet a 90.000-a-week demand
Don't know what to think about this one (other than it's probably just a joke anyhow) ...
Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?
dunno but do we really need another striker??the three ive seen this pre season look sharp to me nd hungry for goals.....i'd like to see us spend on a younger striker if we was to buy anymore. mind you a nice through ball midfielder would be ideal.
go on cut me....i bleed lily white blood
we dont need him it would be a waste of 90,000 a week, we got enough strikers imo. I would concentrate on getting a experienced midfielder like bommel or martin pretrov in .
We will sign someone to replace Zokora, and that should be our final act of the window.
Moussa Sissoko, Van Bommel, Krancjar, who knows!
Would be an absolute waste... decent player (although i've never rated him as high as others) but we dont need him, and for those wages we could do with concentrating those funds elsewhere. Moussa Sissoko, Ettiene Capoue, Miguel Veloso, Joao Moutinho Etc. would all do a lot more for the team
May aswell get Kanu for £90 p/w!
All we need is one central midfield player. Maybe a left winger as well but I don't really care about that we have Modric, Bale and if needed Bent-face
Martin Jol On building his Spurs legacy: 'This is one of the biggest clubs in Europe and I want to be part of its history,'
can't see it happening tbh (hopefully)
I think we're being mentioned because we were (apparently) interested before.
It would be pointless to bring in Toni and have 5 strikers. Toni would expect 1st team football...so will Keane, Defoe and Crouch...I really dont think it'll happen. Especially on £90k p/w, screw that.
I'd be dissapointed if we dont bring anyone else in. I think we need someone in midfield, keep Modic out on the left. I'm pretty gutted the Maxi deal didnt happen, but I'm sure theres plenty of people who could do a similar job.
Errrrrrrrrrrr no thanks.
He is a donley IMO. Yeah you can bang on about his stats and his international record but he is not a Spurs type of player. No flair, no spark, nothing of any note.
I'd like to give Pava till Jan to show why he warrented a 14 million pound price tag.
That can be the only motivation behind this if there is any evidence to back it up........Proffit. Sell Pava for 10-12 and bag this old horse for 6-8.
Dont like the sound of that to be honest.

Luca Toni? Are u serious? He is CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
West Ham fans will think they have a top quality striker down at Upton Park but trust me, he is getting on and i dont rate him at all.
If we have any contact with Bayern Munchen then Miroslav Klose is the man u want![]()
"Modric could play in any team in the world in my opinion, he's a fantastic footballer, top, top class."
Imagine missing out on KJH and getting Luca Toni instead. I'd be gutted. Pav is much more useful to us than Toni could be. For some reason I reckon he wouldn't be a bad signing for the spammers but for us? No thanks.
Have to agree, Toni the Tiger would be better than Luca Toni!
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs and blaming it on you ... you probably haven't a clue what's going on!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that feels this way! I have never rated and will never rate Luca Toni. He definitely wouldn't work for us, he misses so many chances that 'Arry's wife, son, daughter in law and grandchildren could have scored em. If I wasn't so confident this latest 'development' was a load of cobblers, I'd be very worried...
TOTTENHAM 'TIL I DIE!

luca toni in the euros was pretty much the comedy fulcrum of the whole tournament. i watched all of italy's games to see him miss header after header. he can be prolific though; but naturally carries a massive risk. probably would be a great signing for the spammers though.
