We were linked with Mark some time ago & I wanted him back then even. He's a young yet very promising CB who, altho I would still want us to get someone more proven as a solution to our defensive crisis, will definitely serve as a useful option should we need him.
If we get him for the £2m being mentioned then I would say that is a very satisfying deal indeed. I just hope we're not getting distracted buying back-up & youth players when we really need some players who will take us to the next level.

I think he could be a decent signing for us but with the recent capture of Kyle Walker I highly doubt that we'll see this happening.

I think he's a better player than Kyle Walker. Player of the year at Sheff Wed at the age of 19, and a very good defender. Could well do an immediate job in the side while others are out, but i doubt they'll even consider £2m (with investment in the club likely soon). I think £4 or £5m and they will accept, so maybe a bit steep whilst we need more established players.
Sheff Wed chairman, Lee Strafford was just doin an interview on SSN and said any link between us & Beevers is absolute nonsense & that the lads going nowhere.

I read somewhere he is now going to be a back up as they got new signings, maybe we may still go for him? Be a good player for the future?
Gary human, I saw some Sheff Wed fans mentioned that on the vital football forum when i first checked this story out. I think it would be stupid if so, as Beevers is clearly a player with premier league potential whereas defenders like Purse aren't better than the CCC! I do really like the look of Tommy Spurr though, suitable name for us maybe? :P I think he'd be a good signing for a lot of prem clubs, 21 year old left back. Really solid player who could make the step up... not sure if he'd cut it for us though
