The Sun are saying that Harry is preparing a £10m bid on Blackburn's Christopher Samba.
He has always impressed me whenever we seem to play Blackburn but I do have problems with his consistency.
I think I would prefer Bassong really, & so would Harry. I imagine we are lining up Samba in case Bassong doesn't happen but I'm just hoping we will get Seb & that this isn't a sign that the deal has gone down the pan

i think like some have said, that we won't see any developments on bassongs deal untill after this weekend, when he has finished his two match ban........
unfortunately that means he won't play in our match against panathanikos, which is a shame, as i would have got all of our deals done so we could have a couple of these type of games to gel.....
we'll be a team of giants, he's 6'4"
I think there are better centre backs available for less than £10 million, especially if we are looking for cover only

Definitely not worth 10 mill in my view. Bassong isn't going to be happy at Newcastle anyway, so the Magpies will have to relent at some point and let him leave, but will that be too late for us???

my thoughts are samba would be a good adition to the squad i'd prefer bassong or turner but he would do a job for us & would be 1 less player to worry about when we play rovers.

Samba... inconsistent and error prone. Wouldn't be a step forward, and is not going to be an important fixture in future plans. Bassong for slightly more however, could be. Get that one done Harry (Y)
I think this summers transfers has been overshadowed by the stupid money that citeh keep putting on the table = but i have to conceed that Leeds didn't spoil Delph's future and let him go to Villa = O'Niel will look after him - whereas Hugh's would have just stuck him on the bench for an easy get out option of upsetting the overpaid mercenaries . So even though we didn't get him his u21 carreer should still be good
