Mark van Bommel for Spurs | Harry Redknapp ready to move | Sport | News Of The World
So apparently after out "failure" to sign Patrick Vieira, we have turned our attention to Van Bommel, has experience and is a tough-tackler, but the biggest plus is that his fee could be very low.
Would be a yes from me.
Nothings Forgotten, Nothing is ever forgotten
this must be the 4th or 5th time weve tried to sign him.a great player and would suit us down to the ground, but im not getting my hopes up as weve been so close to signing him on many occasions
a good player but should be aiming at someone slightly younger i think
Exactly Geordie, Van Bommel is no spring chicken and imo will be a little suspect towards the end of the season when fatigue sets in. He will be ok for us dont get me wrong, but who wants ok players?
C'mon Harry, i need some excitement!!!
"There's a fine line between madness and genius - God removed that line and replaced it with Gazza"
Hmm, Harry's clearly after someone with a lot of experience. I think he's right, with King playing only half our games next season, we could do with some experienced leadership skills.
If the price is low enough, I'd definatly say yes.
hes captain at bayern ,or was up till recentily so im guessing hes far from over the hill.hes played at the top level all his career and doesnt really have a weakness in his game, hes good tackler passer and has a fierce shot of him,yes hes in his 30s but its also his last chance to prove himself at the highest level.he would be great for the younger players and id have him over hudd and jj in a heartbeat.
Couple of years ago when we were linked with him i would of took him in a heartbeat, as long as he still has the legs i'd take him up for his impact in the dressing room alone (and Van Bommel has always been a very fit player anyway). Great experience and leadership qualities, which is vital if we are going to be bringing through as many of our kids as we hope in the next 1 or 2 years. Same as when we were looking at Viera (dont shoot me down!), he would be perfect along with a younger player in a similar mould who he could mentor through. Again, the sound of Van Bommel and Palacios in midfield excites me..
No way, bayern won't let him go. Van Gaal likes van Bommel.
I think harry wants players with plenty of experience to help the younger players and to make us winners. He always said winning becomes a habbit and if we can get a few players that have won things this can only help. Its all about having the right blend of youth and experience!
My favourite spurs player!
Maybe we should just win somthing decent and then we will have winners in the team already!!!
Not with players like Jenas and Hudd and the team Unit...![]()
Looks like we won't be getting Van Bommel either as Louis Van Gaal has just awarded him the Bayern captaincy after being impressed with him in pre-season.
King and Bongani,
King and Bongani bong!!
(watch out here they come!)
Will we stay or will we go now?
Will we stay or will we go now?
If we go there will be trouble
and if we stay we'll do the double
So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!
Rafael, Van Der Vaart
ƒuck Chelsea & Frank Lampard
with a nick-nack paddywhack he'll be getting goals
when Lampard's too fat & old
COYSAFOYS
Can't stand his sort tbh. Along with Gattuso I think vB is one of the most unpleasant players around, a real bastard on the pitch, and he's not that good anymore.
I may be misjudging him, but I really can't see him being a worthwhile addition; he'd be injured for 1/3 of the season and suspended for another third.
Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?
I love Gattuso as a player. Would love to have him at Spurs.
