2 weeks to the start of the premier league and there hasn't been much talk about bentleys future. A couple of stuff linking him to villa but nothing concrete.
Are we really going to keep and give him another chance??
Or he he certainly going to be sold??
i expect we're looking to keep him unless our valuation of him is matched. for the most part he is a useful player for us and really does deserve a second chance in my eyes.
He is a pre-maradona, cocky s**t, very predicatble and a waste of money. Get rid of him.
"Modric could play in any team in the world in my opinion, he's a fantastic footballer, top, top class."
haha that is also a very good point. all in all i don't really rate him either way. he's not technically as **** as jenas (who i definately want to see some competition for next season as the fact that he's #1 for his position) but no where near one of the best players at the club. it'd be a lie to say that he didn't endear me by making almunia look like a mug.
I'd like to think o'hara getting the number 4 shirt means jenas isn't no.1 for that position anymore, as I'd have o'hara over jenas anyday, much more hardworking and wears the shirt with pride. him and modders were the standout performers against the spammers imo
TOTTENHAM 'TIL I DIE!
No O'hara has got the hard work and the passion which I love, but he is in no way a Premiership first teamer, only for the weaker teams that fight relegation each season.
Bentley I feel will stay, and he could prove useful, we haven't really got a wide man who can deliver good crosses except bentley, and with crouch in the middle, this could prove a good advantage. And i believe he's injured atm anyway, not so sure though. He hasn't featured in pre-season has he??
Is he injured or something? I certainly haven't heard of him for a while.
I also just can't figure out what's wrong with him. He IS a good player. I mean, how can a good player become so useless from one day to the other? If it's likely he's going to be sold, then he will shine some other place. Though, for the price we paid, I'm not actually willing to wait for him much longer to get his head straight again.
Hes got "dead leg" apparently .......
However Jenas who was is injured went to China, Bently didn't ... Make your own mind up ......
he got injured against bournemouth about 15 mins into the game i believe. challenge looked fairly nasty. not sure how long he's out for tho.
TOTTENHAM 'TIL I DIE!
keep bentley, he has to be able to prove himself, he's more quality than he showed last year.
jenas on the other hand had numerous years here and has shown he's crap. off to villa i say.
I would keep him until january & see, with Crouch we may need a good crosser of the ball & u cant deny him of that ability. I always wonder if he could play a more central role, gotta b betta than Jenas. Yes I kno JJ's not fit but when a player cant pass a ball 10-15 feet 3 times in a row against Hull today there's something wrong. He's never lived up to his hype & potencial(spelling) cant pass, cant tackle, got a good engine but thats it. He's gone stale get rid of him Arry!!!
Potentialbut yeh agree with what u say
Did you mean Bentley in a central role David? I started a thread on that... i reckon it might be worth a look. Might lack the pace and desire though (obviously pretty important things!)
I'm hopin the boy was embarassed after last season, when he went from regular England player to playing on our reserves. I think we'll hold on to him ,and if we do, we'll see his quality start to come out this year. He would be quite effective, as has been said, serving Crouch. Sad situation last year really, but sometimes it takes adversity to knock these millionarie headcases down a peg and get them back on track.
I think he has to be given another chance. As has been said before you don't go from Beckhams natural successor(we all said it!!!!!) to the level he was at the tail end of last season with out there being something wrong.
The lad loves the club, has always got a smile on his face and we know that when on form he is a fantastic player. I was the biggest advocate of getting him to the club last year and there were a few others echoing it.
Instead of giving him a rough ride, how about getting behind him and hopefully seeing the real Bentley this year.
My only criticism of him is that he tries the fancy stuff a little too often. If he stuck to the basics, i.e. play the way your facing, simple passes etc, etc he would gain some confidence and become that player we shelled out £15 million for!!!!
Life's too important to be taken seriously!!!
