Harry Redknapp is making a player-plus-cash £8million move for Hull City's in-demand centre-half Michael Turner.
The Spurs boss needs to fill a gaping hole in his back line and is willing to offer squad men plus cash for the towering defender, who is 6ft 4ins.
Turner is also on the wish list of Liverpool, Fulham and Everton, but Redknapp is hoping he will be tempted by the chance of regular first-team football at White Hart Lane.
He would let Hull boss Phil Brown have money and the choice of some of his reserves, including French right-back Pascal Chimbonda, as he tries to wheel and deal his way out of trouble.
Turner, 25, is understood to be interested in a move to north London. He was courted by Fulham last week but is reluctant to take what he sees as a "sideways move" at this stage of his career.
Liverpool are also keeping tabs on Turner but have yet to bid, while Everton would like him too but are unwilling to pay the asking price.
Hull do not want to lose Turner but may have to let him go if the deal is right.
Harry Redknapp to make £8m offer for Hull City star Michael Turner - Football Spy - Mirror.co.uk
"Modric could play in any team in the world in my opinion, he's a fantastic footballer, top, top class."
If we got rid of Chimbo and got a CB out of it what a deal!!!
How ironic is all this sh1t though.
The Huntelaar thread has rumbled on for nearly a thousand posts and came to nowt with us signing daddy longlegs and the real need in our team is at the other end of the pitch!!!
Poxy Spurs.
Not seen much of him personally but with plenty clubs chasing must be a good sign.
If Hull do sell what looks to be their prized asset they could be down by Christmas
Im not 100% convinced by Turner. Started great, but Hull really got sh*te, and id want to see him for another season in the top flight before we made a move (of course that may be too late). Atm, i'd rather we got Bassong
have we got a thread for our views on beating west ham 1 -0 today

You could use the same reasoning against Bassong to be honest. He was a good player but didn't prevent Newcastle from going down.
Personally I'd love it if we could get Bassong because I do think he is pretty decent but I'd prefer the likes of Richards, Onuoha and Hangeland over him.
COME ON YOU SPURS!!!
watched the hull game and aint to sure about turner. i think we could get better for our money , he also nearly gave away a penalty, lol as i said before bring back atouba !!!!
