With the 3 CBs out for potentially the start of the season, add to that the fact that King's legs are shot and Woodgate is 32 should we look for a proper replacement or a cheap and quick fix (Distin). For me I would like to see us look to bring in quality, potentially a young star (Sakho or Mancienne) or someone already proven (Richards, Mertesacker or Hangeland)
I would be gutted if this affected going for KJH, but think it is a position we need to look at long term, just not quite Kyle Walker long term

It has to be Hangeland for me to, young and up and coming. If they start asking silly money do then we should just get in the proven Distin for a quick fix.

I go to Southend sometimes as a local and ave seen Dorian Dervite play a couple of times. He was quite impressive and was very good in the air as well as winning most challenges. Down at Roots Hall the reaction to him has been positive and he may just be good enough for the first couple of games allowing us to buy Huntelaar

If we do buy someone we could a lot worse than Sebastien Bassong. He's young but not too young & did really well with Newcastle last season, so we know he can handle the Prem. He's tall, strong & quick but, most importantly, he is left-footed. We don't have any left-footed CBs as far as I am aware. He can aloso play as a LB & a left-footed RB (something else we don't have at the club).

Newcastle wanted a ridiculous amount for him earlier in the summer but they still don't have a proper manager & they are still unsold, so their wally owner will want a bit of money from somewhere. Add to that our relations with Hughton & I think we could get him for a bargain price, if we play our cards right.
      King and Bongani,
      King and Bongani bong!!
      (watch out here they come!)

Will we stay or will we go now?
Will we stay or will we go now?
If we go there will be trouble
and if we stay we'll do the double
So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!

      Rafael, Van Der Vaart
      ƒuck Chelsea & Frank Lampard
with a nick-nack paddywhack he'll be getting goals
when Lampard's too fat & old

but is there a point to buy a new CB for a couple of weeks? then what, when Dawson, King and Woodgate come back, aren't they gonna be one too many? maybe selling Dawson and opening a spot for a fresh one, dunno. but still I want to see what Dervite can show us tomorrow

ye my bad, thats what you get for playing fifa directly before ha

Sakho is left-footed as well, plus we would be beating Arsenal to a signing. But Bassong would be a good buy.

I gotta agree Soulseeker. King, Woodgate and Dawson are all doubts, not defenites to miss opening games, so if Dervite is good enough against Barca, even if they play a weakened side, then surley he will onli have to cover for a couple of games. Corluka was impressive at CB last season when needed and again, if itz just for the first couple of games so be it.

We would be wasting valubale money on a ne CB which could b put towards Huntelaar a far better proposition.
