dream summer signings (realistic)
another summer is here and i hope that we will not be selling any of our good players this summer with stable management in charge
so, there is some room for improvement in the side imo, who should we sign to fill in the gaps, hopefully some real quality for once!
my dream signings would be:
ashley young
stephen warnock
majid bougherra
gignac
my dream leavers would be:
david bentley
jermaine jenas
darren bent
pascal chimbonda

would bougherra really be a dream signing? Out of all the realistic cb options, i would numerous others ahead of him. Solid enough, but much better out there
Tbh the signings i want to happen tend to change quite a bit with different stories coming out :P
i would say scott brown/ joao moutinho, stephen warnock/ taye taiwo, john carew and michel bastos/ adam johnson. Doesnt sound spectacular, but would make us so much stronger

LB: Taye Taiwo/Aly Cissokho
CM: Scott Brown/Lorik Cana
ST: Obafemi Martins/Goran Pandev
Ideally the starting XI next season would be:
---------------------Gomes---------------------
Corluka--King--Woodgate--Taiwo/Cissokho
------------Brown/Cana--Palacios------------
Lennon---------------------------------Modric
-----------Defoe--Martins/Pandev-----------
Backups:
GK: Cudicini, Alnwick
RB: Hutton
CB: Dawson
LB: BAE, Bale
CM: Jenas/Hudd/Zokora/KPB...whoever stays
RW: dos Santos
LW: dos Santos
ST: Keane, Pavlyuchenko/Bent
Departures:
Gunter (loan)
Chimbonda
Two of Jenas/Hudd/Zokora/KPB
Possibly dos Santos (loan)
1 of Bent/Pavlyuchenko

Thought i'd look closer at a few suggestions...
Looks like everton aren't going for M'bia now.
Liverpool Echo.co.uk - Everton FC - News - No deal for Cameroon midfielder Stephane M’Bia say Everton
I wonder why :S if they could get him for such a price like that, they should bite Rennes hands off! I know i'd like spurs to.
Jagielka signed a new contract, but City seem to want to sell richards... its one that comes up a lot. What do you think he would cost? Him and Dawson could be formidable in 2 or 3 years!!

They'd want 15/20 mill for Richards I reckon but its not like they need to sell to buy is it so they may take between 12 and 15ish.

Michel Bastos definitely & Asamoah Gyan is decent too but I wouldn't take Mansare personally. I would much rather Gignac from Toulouse. I don't think I'd take Pogrebnyak either, certainly not Shawkey or Wheater! I would much rather Aboutrika (Egypt's "African footballer of the year" winner) than Shawkey, who has done naff all since joining Boro. Only downside is his age.
Personally, I would LOVE us to sign Stephane Sessegnon from PSG. He was awesome for Paris last season. I would also love to take young Douglas from Gremio - He's gonna be HUGE one day, or Russia's next superstar Dzagoev off of CSKA. Both are under 20 & both are excellent players who could be got on the cheap. Dzagoev will be Russia's new Arshavin in the next few years. He's already in the national team. Douglas is a left-footed attacking midfielder . . . we could do with one of those & I would be well excited if he came!
Douglas ( aged 18 ):
Dzagoev ( aged 19 ):
However, for me, there is no doubting that getting Huntelaar would be my 'star' signing, but I'm not as hopeful as I was a couple days go. Klaas, if you're reading this, come to Spurs & we will adore you & make you part of the Tottenham family more than any other club in the world could offer you!
