Spurs have reportedly made a late effort to beat Sevilla to Hertha Berlin's self-styled 'Ghetto Kid' Kevin-Prince Boateng.
The 20-year-old central midfielder is rated as one of the hottest prospects in the Bundesliga and has been linked with a move to Sevilla for most of the summer.

However, Spurs boss Martin Jol is said to have put in a £5million bid - almost double what the Spanish Primera Liga outfit have offered - in an attempt to gazump the UEFA Cup winners. Hertha boss Dieter Hoeness is now considering the club's next move, according to the Daily Mail.

Boateng was born in Berlin to a German mother and Ghanaian father and has dual nationality. His tough upbringing and love of tattoos led him to invent the nickname 'Ghetto Kid'.

He has featured at all youth levels for Germany but is yet to commit himself to the senior national team, having also considered playing for Ghana.

Boateng rose through the ranks at Hertha and has already earned a reputation as a showman, dividing fans and critics - although he impressed enough to be voted Best Young Player in Germany in 2006.

Sevilla has signed Keita from Lens. He plays in the same area that Boateng. I think that Sevilla isn´t going to buy the prince. I think that boateng will be yours.
