TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR winger Reto Ziegler has joined Sampdoria on a permanent deal.

The 21-year-old joined the Italian outfit on loan in January and has now penned a deal to remain at the club where he made 15 appearances last season.

Ziegler joined Spurs from Grasshopper Zurich in August 2004 for an undisclosed amount.

"I feel good at Sampdoria," Ziegler said.

"This is the right club for me to improve as a player."
