well i am hoping in my heart of hearts bent is goin to be worth it! Who knows, he may just find his strides with us and move up and up in class and his ability! he is only 23 as well.. i bet if we had of bought dimi back when he was 23, we all would be a bit.. mmm, who is this guy! hehe
So we really just need too give him some time and a decent chance.. At least he is used to priemier league football and knows what its about.. rather then getting someone overseas and it taking them a couple of years to adapt!

Being reported today tha Defo turned down a new 5 year deal...

Believe it or not, I think Bent is a better player than Defoe. Defoe is not sharp enough mentally to play alongside a player of the intelligence of Berbatov. Nor is Defoe a particularly great finisher.
That is not to say he is a poor player, far from it. But it is evident by the fact that no big clubs are really taking a serious look at him. I like Defoe, but won't shed any tears when he goes. If we can get £7m for him I would take it. Bent will prove to be far more prolific.
having said that, Keano is world class and better than both of them!! Keane isn't a great finisher either, but his movement and intelligent link up play with Berba, are worth a goal every game. I'm trusting Jol's judgement on this one!!
