Spurs apparently sent scouts to watch Paulo play recently. He is a CB who currently plays for Club Toluca in Mexico, as well as for the Paraguay national team.
He is 29 & out of contract at the end of the season meaning we could get him for free, although Sunderland are also believed to be keen on acquiring his services.
Tottenham target Paulo Cesar da Silva and Martin Petrov - Telegraph
EDIT:It is believed that Spurs officials held transfer talks with Paulo after the Ecuador game & have agreed the deal already in principle that will see the tough tackling CB become Harry's first signing of the summer. What do we think boys? Is he the perfect cover for Woodgate or King?
There is no doubting Paulo is a very experienced defender having been capped over 50 times by his country, played at a World Cup & spent time in Italy, where defending is considered an artform.Whhilst I'm sure there are better CBs out there, you can't argue with the price, & every time I watched him play for Paraguay in Germany, he looked very reliable.
