Agree with you guys - Paper Talk and I would also like to have Hart above any other GK at the moment. Strange that the press are linking us with GK's when that is possibly now one of our stronger positions. I want to read about LW's to really get my juices flowing.

Pele is a quality keeper, perhaps the best keeper France has produced in years imo, or soon will be. Extremely good shot stopper, can deal with crosses, is quick off his lone & has decent distribution. He is at Le Mans right now, who aren't the best defensively, so he gets well tested & frequently holds his ground. Here are a couple vids:

I don't think this is necessarily 'rumour'. Pele is kicking up a bit of a fuss in Ligue 1 & I would be disappointed if we weren't having a look at him. He has fueled the rumour by saying that its his last season at Le Mans & that he favours a move to the Prem. However, we're not the only ones looking.

Sound great saves in there, Basskadet, but nothing there to suggest he is any better than Gomes, tho he does look an excellent shot-stopper. What I'd really like see from a keeper is examples of him consistently collecting crosses. Sadly this doesn't make great youtube viewing, lol!

From what I've seen he deals with crosses fairly well, although it is not as big a part of the French game as it is the English, but I don't see a problem with his catching & he is also very good at deflecting/punching away from danger (something Gomes does not always manage). I don't necessarily disagree with you tho. I really like Gomes & I really think he could be good for Spurs if we stick with him. However, Pele would be an adequate replacement should we choose not to & I think he has better reflexes than Gomes & makes better decisions too. However, Gomes distribution is far superior, as is his reach.

dont like brazilain or french keepers they can be dodgy at best in pl not used to getting banged on crosses if we are going to buy another keeper id have hart from city other this guy

I think that there may be some truth behind this story. We were first linked to his fella a few seasons ago and could well have been keeping tabs on him since then. I know today that Spurs announced record profits but this only went up till the end of the year so would not account for the large amount that we had to spend in January.
I don't fullly believe that building a new training ground and stadium is not going to impact on the teams spending either. Arry the wheeler dealer has also come out and said that he can't wait to start trying to pic up some bargins in the summer an that there are some great free singings to be made out there. Because of this I think that this story unlike so many might have some legs in it.

if pele is coming up on a free he's definately worth getting in. solid keeper without a lot to prove. would improve with us, rather than what we've seen with gomes which is though hes still a great keeper; hes got worse than he was previously and found himself hounded by the pundits and media.

We need another good keeper so we might as well try and get him for free if his contract is running out at the end of the season as he sound better than what we have got at the moment.
