i read in several newspapers the other day that Defoe is being offered a new contract, which is great a i hope he signs, however the papers then went on to say that if Defoe doesnt sign then we will sell him which i definately dont wont to happen he is amzing and should patner Rooney up front for England

He has 2 years left on his contract so its either this summer for 10million + or risk trying to offload him for around 5mill next summer.
He was quoted saying why would he want to leave as we are on the brink of glory and he wanted a new contract.
Dont see him leaving, Bent would be replacing Mido

i know that but Defoe and Bent have the same playing style we need another playmaker to replace Mido

I hope Defoe stays. He didn't play as much as he would have liked last season yet he still scored 18 or 19 goals.

I do feel sorry for him with the England situation. He played in a qualifier when a striker was injured or suspended and scored 2 cracking goals. As soon as that player was back, they were straight in the starting line-up and Defoe didn't even come on from the bench.

I think Defoe is better than Bent anyway, what do others think?

I'm not overly keen on Defo but I'd rather we kept him than replace him, he's good enough to rotate with Robbie.
