I read this morning that Tottenham will prepare a 5 million bind for Marouane Chamakh. Maybe I can tell you a little about him. He is 24 year old Bordeaux Girondins attacker, who is a talismanic figure for both clube and country. He is tall, quick, elagante, and strong. He is together with Yohan Gourcuff, Bordeaux's prized asset. He doesnt score many goals ( 9 so far this season) and gets about 13 per season. This is not his job to score. He is deployed as a support to the main attacker. He is extremely dangerous in air and scores many headers. He posseses brilliant first touch, dribbling and his vision is also excellent. Chamakh is held in high esteem by many journalists and coaches in France, but he can still improve and I believe that Mr Redknapp can make him improve. This season he has scored important goals and contributed to many others. It was his performance V Marseille this season which caught the attention of Mr Wenger.

This player is a class act, with huge talent and this season may be his last in Ligue 1 as there are many teams who would like to have him.

      Good post Frenchy.

The French league is bursting with talent at the moment.

Cavenaghi, Gignac, Taiwo, Chamakh and Makoun to list a few.

I hope we get at least one of them.

I am not sure about this one. I don't know much about the guy. I watched the first video and his finishing doesn't seem too hot.

chamakh is till now not a goal machine
but he is a tireless horse, an unstoppable train, the first of all powerplayers, ... his game pressure is like a tsunami ...
every goalgetter next to him will love him more then his model wife,...
and every defence hate to play against him, because they must work (in every minute of the game !!) against an mix of speedy gonzales and haile gebreselassi
thats the reason why so many love his game even if he isnt a goalgetter till now
but he is still young and become better and better from season to season

In the second video from 2:35 - 3:21 you will understand his game style ..

Chamakh is a good player at holding up the ball but he does not score enough goals. I would still much prefer to get Cavenaghi off of Girondins as he offers so much more. In a perfect world I would take both. As much as I like Girondins, I prefer Spurs.

Another player tearing up the French league is Stephane Sessegnon. I like watching Ligue 1 & this guy is QUALITY. Unfortunately he tends to play wide right & we are pretty sorted in that area. He reminds me a bit of Lennon, bigger in general& with slightly less speed & flair & a bit more final product, but very similar. I would love to have him at Spurs if we could find a place for him. In Paris they call him the new Okocha.

In those videos.. all I kept noticing is how he didn't touch it once with his left foot. He'd have a perfect chance on his left, but hit it with his right on the outside and cock it up :|

his touch looks magic. good signing i think if it goes through.

one thing i noticed is there seems to be an abundant amount of really good keepers in france lol, some of those reaction saves where mind boggling.
