Just a little game i thought we could all play.
Regardless of speculation and paper talk i was wondering who you think will be in our first team squad for our opening game next season? Also who you think will be sold to accomodate the new signings?
Just a bit of fun guys where no body is wrong and some may prove to be right.![]()

I really dont no who he will keep or let go
Ok my guess would be.
.................Gomes....................
...........Woody....Daws..............
Corluka...........................Taiwo
.................Palacios..................
......Moutinho..........Modric........
Lennon..............................Cole
....................Keane..................
Subs - Cudicini, King, Chimbonda, Zokora, O'hara, Defoe, Cavenaghi/Gignac
Players in:
Joao Moutinho, probably the best CM in Europe not to play in the EPL. Should be available for around £15m from Porto.
Ty Taiwo - Big strong and fast LB. LB has been a problem position for Spurs for years and this kid could be the solution.
Joe Cole - Looks out of favour at Chavford Bridge and may welcome the opportunity to play for Harry again, providing we make the right moves in the transfer market.
Cavenaghi or Gignac - Both great strikers ripping the French league apart this season. Would prefer Cavenaghi but wouldnt say no to Gignac.
I think Harry will give players like Gio and BAE another season as they can both act as good cover.
Players out:
Jenas - S**t
Huddlestone - S**t
Bale - S**t
Pav - S**t
Bent - S**t
Bentley - S**t
Thats my speculative punt guys, knock yourselves out.

COME ON YOU SPURS!!!

There will be offers on the table, extreemly big and tempting offers for Lennon.
I also think that Modric will be sniffed around.
I know we got Defo and Keano back and Pav should be a different player once he's had a nice rest but I cant help think that we need somthing else somthing of real quality up there.
LB still an issue as Bale aint up to it yet.
I cant see many leaving apart from the blatently obvious contenders.
Bent
Jenus
BAE
Posibly Huddlestone
Downing in and a cheeky bid for RSC, as I think Boro and B/burn will get relegated.
Mad Rafa will want to sign Lennon, he has made no secret of that. But im sure he will look at the experience Keano had earlier this season and may think twice about leaving a club he has confessed to never wanting to leave. Liverpool are a team who have a very bad history of under using talented wingers. Benayoun, Pennant, Babel and Kewell have all suffered from being over looked by Mad Rafa.
Lennon wont leave.
Modric will be sniffed around, but by who? Bin Dippers, Goons, Chavs and Manure dont really have space for him in their squads and i think we would only sell for around the £25m mark (thats a lot of bananas and will scare most teams off). I also very much doubt he will want to sign abroad from Spurs giving that he only has 1 competitive EPL season under his belt. I cant see Modric leaving.

I think we'll have turnover but not too much. The key to the United game was that Lennon and Corluka were able to combo some great play, because they've finally played together enough. We need to have some stability. With that said I also like Taiwo and think we're keen on him.

Subs - Cudicini, BAE, Zokora, , O'hara, Pavs,
Squad: Gio, Hutton, Huddlestone, King, Tarrabt
Leaving: Bale, Bent, Jenas, Hutton
I wouldn't be suprised to see an Obika, Parrett, or Bostock sighting on the bench from time to time.
i like the look of your side there dan except i dont see keano as a lone striker. moutinho is a very good player - i hear everton are in for him. i personally think we are quite well set in midfield - palacios, modric, lennon - there only seems to be one starting 11 place up for grabs, and to be honest i think harry might save the money and persevere with JJ..
we could possibly do with freeing some cash by selling some fringe players - bentley, bale, huddlestone, gio etc.. i wouldnt be too dissapointed to see the back of any of them barring gio.
bent will be gone.. pav, im not sure about - will have to wait and see. we are in need of a target man, will be interesting to see who harry is thinking of - i quite like kenwyne jones personally.
i dont think a major turnover is what we need, not again. some fine tuning to the sqaud and a striker or two with bent and campbell out would be nice... i hope were in the market for a LB
I just think harrys given himself a bit of a problem by bringing both keane and defoe back, i've not seen them work too well together in the past and we paid a full 15 mill for defoe so cant see harry being too willing to sit him on the bench... the way i see it atm our midfield is geared up to playing a 4-5-1 while our strike-force demands something like a 4-3-3 so somethings going to have to give in terms of how the squad is balanced.. thats the key for me.
although we have a more balanced first 11 with keane, cudicini and wilson here, our squad still looks unevenly spread in places.

Good point Pitseleh, i think our squad is unbalanced too.
I think its all down to the fact that Harry has a headache when it comes to Modric. Modric can play down the left but is pretty ineffective and does far more damage in the centre with a free role or sitting off the striker. That leaves the squad playing 4-4-1-1 which i dont think works too well.
Harry needs to sit down and work out where to play Modric.
Say that we buy Downing, Moutinho and Cavenaghi in the summer. With these signings it looks like the makings of a 4-4-2 line up. Lennon.....Palacios.......Moutinho......Downing, across the middle of the park and Keane and Cavenaghi up top. Where does Modric fit in?
If we play 4-5-1 with Palacios holding, that leaves Moutinho and Modric central and Lennon and Downing up the wings. Sounds good in theory but that leaves 1 spot up front in which to keep a possible 3 strikers happy. Defoe cant play the lone man and nor can Keane, that leaves Cavenaghi playing alone which will no doubt rile Defoe again who will be dropped to 3rd choice.
Headache for Harry.
I believe that Spurs need to chop the dead wood we have had at the club for far too long. Hudd, JJ, Bent and Bale are just clogging up the wage bill and if i see them in a Spurs shirt next season i will be very surprised. We need to sell these types of players to fund a couple of decent signings.
Who would complain if we sold Bale, Bent, JJ, Hudd, Bentley and brought in Downing, Moutinho, Taiwo and Cavenaghi? I certainly wouldnt.
I understand what your saying Pitseleh, i agree that we dont need a massive shake up. But if we continue to keep players who week in week out are playing soo poorly we will have a serious problem next season. Cut them loose before we get dragged into another woeful season.

i think spurs -nasty you are not far of it that will be the ideal team pav should stay he is a good player i think some of you are being a bit harsh on him
I already posted my 09/10 team/squad in a thread of the same title some time ago. Here's the link to what I said then, although a few changes should probably now be made:

Below is an updated version of what I basically said then & I think it is even stronger
King and Bongani,
King and Bongani bong!!
(watch out here they come!)
Will we stay or will we go now?
Will we stay or will we go now?
If we go there will be trouble
and if we stay we'll do the double
So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!
Rafael, Van Der Vaart
ƒuck Chelsea & Frank Lampard
with a nick-nack paddywhack he'll be getting goals
when Lampard's too fat & old

The thing that bugs me in all this , is that we cut these players loose because they dont perform . Then as soon as they are up against us for another team , they try to prove we have made a mistake = thats where it stinks - because if they performed while they were here , they would still be here . I could list them but you all know who they are . This is where football fails = a player is trying to prove to his old side that they made a mistake , rather than looking at themselves to find the reason we let them go in the first place . Am i talkin sh!t or somethin , or do you see what i'm sayin
The only problem with Cavenaghi is I don't think we will go for him anymore, not with both Defoe & Keane here now & especially not after he injured a knee ligament against Toulouse the other week. He'll be out now for 6-8 weeks, most of the remaining season.
Shame really because I really feel that, had we been in a different position in January, we would have really tried harder for Cavenaghi & would have had a player who is a better allrounder than Defoe all settled in for the 2009/10 season.
