I hope that the summer will bring a change direction with regards to the current transfer policy of Buy 'em young and sell 'em on.

What does everybody think about Youth Vs Experiance?

im very optimistic about the current crop of youth team players we have... arry bought through some very good players at west ham, the spammers were forced to sell their brighteset young talent, but i think we have a good chance of keeping hold of ours since we are a financially stable club.

it would be great to have some young english lads coming through the academy, they know whats its all about and would most likely give everything to wear the shirt.

lol dont know what u mean chris waddle, we buy players like huddlestone and bale for significant amounts and its not like they price skyrockets is it??
but yea im a massive fan of youth- now dont get to uptight but look at arsenal last year

We have a fantastic reccord of supporting and developing youth tallent.

But it seems like we dont quite seem to produce the same caliber of player that alot of other clubs do. The only world class player to dat IMO has been Ledders and TBH we ruined him by playing him far too much too young.

We heavily invest in up and coming youth tallent every season but in general they fail to yield their potential.

Other clubs as G4L stated seem to constantly produce excelent young players with the occaisional superstar thrown in for good measure.

I think we need to be a little bolder with the youth tallent we get and use tham as the big clubs have in the lesser cup competitions. IMO again the CC is a comp that they should be playing in but in our predicament we needed it to re-qualify for europe and we have a duty to defend it also.

Next season should be different though.

Its exciting when the youth team lads establish themselves in the first team. It would be great to find the next Stephen Carr or Ledley King both who gave great service.

With the exception of Man Utd I think we have the best youngsters in the country i mean think about Hutton, Dawson, Corluka, Palacious, Jenas, Huddlestone, Bentley, Lennon, Modric, Taarabt, O'Hara, Bostock, Bent, Defoe, Pav and Keane (the oldest at 2 to name afew.

Granted only O'Hara came from our academy but still all ridicuslousy talanted young players.

Thats why I love Arry because he knows the quality we have but has recognised we lack experiance and big characters like we had in Jols first full season when we finished 5th just behind the scum. We had Ledders, Davids, Tanio, Lee and Stalteri in the squad.
