The young Serb could be set for a move to north London, according to media reports in England.

After a trial at Tottenham Hotspur last month, reports in England are indicating that Serbian starlet Darko Lazovic, not to be confused with his countryman Danko of the same surname, could be set for a move to White Hart Lane.

The 18-year-old is a playmaking midfielder who has already starred for his nation's senior international side, and it is thought that a transfer fee of around £500,000 should be enough to prise him away from Serbian outfit FK Borac Cacak.

Now British newspaper The Independent is reporting today that the move looks likely to happen soon, after the youngster impressed observers at Spurs.

"As far as I know, he got the thumbs up in Tottenham and at the moment he is the one to decide what would be the best for him at this stage," the broadsheet reports Borac coach Ljubisa Dmitrovic as saying.

The youngster himself, who only made his senior club debut in March of last year before making his senior international bow against Poland in a friendly in December, also had a trial with Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin, and is keeping his feet firmly in the floor as rumours of his move begin to gather momentum.

"I will wait in order to decide what is best for me," Lazovic told The Independent.

With what Serbs went thru? I don't want to get too heavy & tbh, a young player like Darko has nothing to do with that period of Serbian history but Gary, the Serbs (or rather the Serbian Army & the politicians in charge) were the main antagonisers of that war. I'm afraid I don't have a huge amount of sympathy toward them over that epoch. Bosnians, etc, suffered horrendously at the hands of the Serbs & that a*sehole Milosevic (no, not the footballer but the president!). I'm sure Slobodan was an Arsenal fan.

i am croatian....and its not like i hate serbs or anything but truth is there was never any agression in Serbia.....the war was in Croatia and Bosnia....and for the most part serbs were the agressors....they used the idea of keeping yugoslavia together to get favour of western countries while in fact they had planned to expand serbia into bosnia and some parts of croatia.....if they really wanted to keep yugoslavia together why didnt they go after slovenia also???? anyway this is a sports forum so this is where i stop with the politics.....with regard to lazovic i wouldent mind him coming to spurs but i dont think it would be best for his career....think an average team in the bundesliga would be better for him at the moment....or maybe buy him and loan him to partizan or red star for a year

Serbs were only 300000 in Croatia and Croats are 4 million. Croats were mass armed by NATO but it still didnt help them to win against Serbs. At the end of the war NATO started bombing Serbian positions to help Croatian and muslim army from Bosna to win, but nothin. Serbs have got one of the worlds brightest history. Well known for their bravery and devotion to God. Probably the last Christians in Europe and the last European nation that have balls. GLORY, GLORY SERBIA!
