I really believe that if you want to challenge in the EPL, you need to have players in your team that have been there & done it before. You look at the scum, they have gotten rid of their last few players who were around when they last won stuff & they look now to be seriously dropping off the pace.
You can buy in all the footballing talent you want but you need those experienced 'winners' in amongst them if you genuinely want to them to perform as a 'team' challenging for honours.
Its another reason why I'd love to see Harry go for Joe Cole in the summer, regardless of his current injury. However, if we could get a couple more in, especially a defensive player, it will do us wonders. Having Cudicini in goal, who won the title with Chelsea, will also give the back 4 confidence & encouragement.
With that in mind, who should we sign that we could realistically get in & who have won the title already?
King and Bongani,
King and Bongani bong!!
(watch out here they come!)
Will we stay or will we go now?
Will we stay or will we go now?
If we go there will be trouble
and if we stay we'll do the double
So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!
Rafael, Van Der Vaart
ƒuck Chelsea & Frank Lampard
with a nick-nack paddywhack he'll be getting goals
when Lampard's too fat & old

I think the only ones that would be available , are passed their sell by date . Joe cole is a good shout though . How about Jaap Stam lol
off to the library to look into this, expect a post in a few looong days ;-)
good question and good point. But one issue, if they are winners, they are either still with their "top" clubs, ageing and about to be released, or already released and growing old in Europe or Mid table etc..
Its a question of timing... you have to find the player who got the experience, still got something in his legs and is open to the idea of leaving...
Tall order.
Edgar Davids was perfect and still have not found a replacement for him. Stephen Appiah would have been good but seems he couldnt settle a working price.
I guess you could extend it it to La Liga or Serie A winners but I wouldn't go any further than those leagues. They both require a high standard to win & are the nearest competitors to the EPL but even players who have won titles in those leagues can be shocked by the demands of the Premiership.
I would argue that part of the reason why Man Utd are always looking like contenders is because they have the right mix of youth & players who have done it all before. The thing is, each time they then go on & win again they create a new batch of players that no how it feels to win a title & how to do it all over again
How about Gabriel Heinze? Do you think he's too old now at 30 (he'll be 31 by this summer)? He could do a job for us at LB & CB & we have connections (albeit not the best) with his current manager. I think he might contemplate a return to the EPL, especially with Real slipping off the pace & the youngsters there knocking on the door, I don't think he's played that much for them this season (altho that could be due to an injury, idk). We would definitely have need for him & his experience at Spurs

Ur right and i think arry does have a concept of this, and will be lookin to bring in "winners" in the summer
I have to say Wilson started his Spurs life with a real display of "winner attitude". he might not have won anything, but he looked happy to kick-bite-scare-chase the crap out of the scum.
And we all know Keane is a "winner or die trying" kinda of guy..
Well, you have to say that there is an added logic to bringing back these guys such as Keane & Chimbonda as they were both part of the Carling Cup winning team from last year. We are in the final again this year but we sold many of the people who played that day.
I know that neither Robbie nor Pascal will be eligible to play but they will be at Wembley & their experience & support will be invaluable to our newer players. Also, Cudicini won the CC with Chelsea also so that's another great reason behind his signing.
Just to point out also that both Charlie & Luka have played in a side that won when not expected in a massive game at Wembley & I hope Harry reminds them of that occasion as they prepare to meet United
Oh yeah, how about Arjen Robben for the LW? I think we might be able to swing to Gabby but not Arjen as well, but it would be great wouldn't it!

I hated Arjen Robben when he was a chav....
Id have to a u turn bigger than the one I did for klingsman if he came to the lane... and he'd have stop being such a **** if he was to put on a spurs shirt....
not sure he has the legs he once had either.... if you know what i mean. But i like your thinking.
If Harry could get Robben in, oh my days are left sided game play would be over. He runs his balls of every single game I see him playin for Madrid. I say it would be a hard signing, might want a trip back to EPL!
Giggs
Scholes
Essien
There are probably alot more. Will have a think.
Makelele he would teach a few a thing or two about defending!
You say Robben might be a difficult signing, buuuut i remember reading on one of those sites that listed famous Spurs supporters and Robben was on the list.![]()
Just though about Essien. He is a dirt orrible (Insert own derogatory 4 lettered profanity).
robben likes to keep the ball in his possesion for to long and for that reason i dont personaly rate him, especially if u consider the price that we would have to pay for him.....our team already has enough winners in the making right now its our team chemistry thats pulling us down
