Guess we wouldn't need Veloso now we have Palacios, a rejuvinated Zokora and possibly Appiah but... I wonder how much Bolton was offering and how much was being asked for? I'm a fan of Veloso and remember when we were linked with him in summer. Quality player.

We tried getting Capel in the summer and he said he didn't want to leave Sevilla.

we DO need veloso - he's a mile better than zokora in a dm role and would be perfect behind wilson and modric .... would love to get this guy in. if he goes to bolton we'll just end up paying more for him next january buying him from them.
Whats the point Bolton and Newcastle buying them because either some of the big boys will pick him off within a season easy. But seriously we will have 3 defensive midfielders if we bring Veloso in, Zokora, Wilson and then Veloso. If Appiah gets signed then it will be 4!
Sporting want £20m+ for Veloso still & Bolton apparently offered something like £5m! in your f**king dreams Megson!! Veloso is more of a playmaker than those others, a kind of Portuguese Carrick in a way. He hangs back & directs the play in front of him. Could still be room for him but I don't see Harry stretching to £20m & it seemed as tho those links in the summer were all just rumour anyhow.

Not often I don't agree with you Basskadet, but his club value him at £15 million and if Harry wanted him Im near sure he could get him for £12 million, but we need English proven players at the moment.
