I know it's only the news of the world but wouldn't it be great if we actually got 60mil to spend. I might have to retract my other comments about us not having much of a chance of getting nani...Following on from the signing of Gareth Bale Spurs have a further £60 million to spend this summer with £23 million already set aside for two targets.
The News of the World claims Spurs boss Martin Jol has been armed with the club's biggest ever transfer kitty in an attempt to break into the top four in next season's Premiership.
The paper also claims that £23 million of that money has been set aside to secure the services of Charlton's Darren Bent and Sporting Lisbon winger Nani.
Left winger Nani had thought to be interesting Manchester United but with their interest reportedly cooling, the path seems clear for Spurs to bring the new 'Ronaldo' to the Premiership.
I previously heard 30mil and thought that was good. Maybe the club have been hording all the cash waiting for a time like this when we have 2 good seasons in a row!! 60mil could really strengthen our squad both in terms of quality and depth.

yeah the thing is i think we have actually got the money to spend too ! You think what we have spent over the last 3 seasons, its got to be around 40 or 50 mill !
With all of these people buying premiership clubs with there spare change *sick* Tottenham i think are determined to do it the right way and prove everyone wrong.
By the write way i mean, build a successful side then comes the stadium (with a good manager Mr Jol) and in the mean time making sure the club is financially stable and wont risk anything....
Not another club in the premiership that can say they are in a position like we are !
At the end of it though i dont think we will need to spend all of the 60 mill, unless he's planning on buying a super star for 30 mill ??
60m would be fab. More like 40m I reckon though. But if Jol can spend any money brought in from sales then maybe that figure could still rise.
Nani 15m, Zigic 8m, Kaboul 8m, Bale 5m(up front), Ronaldinho/Messi 30m :5:
66m-peanuts
COYS
And apparently Bale isn't included in the 60mil, it's another 60 mil after him :5:Originally Posted by Yid_1978

Althought I must re-stress that this came from the News of the World before I get my hopes up too much. Still I think another 30-40mil would be very good and should see us land some major talent.
Plus we're expecting mido, maybe defo and maybe some others to be sold so that might put the figure up another chunk! here's hoping!!!

it doesn't surprise me that the club has a large war chest to spend.
They have made profits this season, and have no debts either. I don't think there's actually another club in the prem that can say that right now.
Wonder how we got the name Yids![]()

with the bigger cash injection from sky its put at least an extra 20million into each club. When we sold Carrick to Man usa it worked out that in the Santini and Jol era we have not spent no money on transfers ie what we spent we got back selling!!
And are owner Mr Lewis is a billionaire.
So 60mill could be right.
Bale 5mill
Kaboul 8mill
Hunteerlar 15mill or Torres 20mill
Petrov 8mill
Sniejder 13mill
Kewell 4mill
Thats what i would do

DARREN BENT is poised to shun Liverpool and join Spurs as boss Martin Jol starts a £24million spree.
Jol is confident Charlton will accept a £12m bid for striker Bent, 23, following his decision to turn down West Ham.
Spurs are also willing to pay West Brom £6m for central defender Curtis Davies.
And they are chasing £5m Feyenoord left-back Royston Drenthe and £1m French midfielder Biaise Matuidi from Troyes.
Snubbed
Bent (right) is also wanted by Liverpool but prefers to stay in London.
West Brom have already snubbed an £8m offer from Portsmouth for Davies.
But Spurs are ready to include defender Anthony Gardner and winger Wayne Routledge in part exchange.
from news of the world web site
We wont go for Davis as Kaboul is all but wrapped up, Bents 50/50, the young dutch lad rumour is gathering pace if we keep getting linked with him longer than 2 days i might belive it,
