I red very interesting news today... What do you think about it? I don't like Bentley, so I'm happy, but.. 20 milions pounds, it was a really big mistake made by Commoli :/ Let him leave, but for good money. But then we have to buy somebody on left wing.

We will get 10 mil for him. Anything more, and the other club is more of a laughing stock than us.

I am very dissapointed in Bentley so far. I thought he was going to be a great catch for us. Saying that, I am happy for him to stay and for him to be given another chance with games in a row playing on the right. If it doesnt work out, he can go in January.

I agree with spurs2rise; give Bentley time, and a run on the right. Hopefully we'll be able to switch to a 442(and sign Appiah/a DM already!), at least in the league, and he can start supplying a Pav-Defoe partnership. Lennon does much better on the left, from what I've seen /recall.
"The great fallacy is that the game is first and foremost about winning. It's nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. It's about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom."

Everton have not got enough money to buy a bloody decent striker which would cost around 15 million especially when they are looking for one that guarantees 25 goals a season. What the **** do you except Everton to come and buy Bentley AND Bent? That would cost them double the amount of 15 million and they would have to sell some of their best players. THINK about that foghorn leggy and the rest of yous.

We cannot afford to let players go at the minute, Harry has even said this. We are in a relegation battle if you have not bloody noticed that! I'm sick and tired of seeing players being linked out because if Lennon gets injured, we are ****ed. If Pavlyuchenko gets injured or Defoe we are ****e.d

THINK about it before you post these things. And more to the fact that the newspapers are influencing you to post these things because they are the ones who find these "sources" but never come to the real facts that Everton have bull **** all money to spend let alone buy Bent and Bentley??! Please think before you say stuff, please for your own sake.

      Rant over.

I agree that we need all the players we have. My question is ... Can you class Bent as a player????? My 5 year old is better than him!!!!!
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs and blaming it on you ... you probably haven't a clue what's going on!

That touch he did and cross to Bent, was great... if we got that week in week out, 90 minutes I would not say a thing! I think the bench has done him some good to be honest! But don't count your eggs before they hatch as they do say.

lets not get carried away, he was still dire from set peices which is one of the main reasons we signed him was it not, but yeah ok, he looked a damn sight better than he has in previous games, and setting up a chance, getting involved, might help him get a bit of confidence back.

the guy has just infuriated me this season. how hes forgotten how to cross a ball from a free-kick is beyond me. i think he came at the wrong time to spurs. a year ago, with berba and keane in the team we were very much an attractive side to watch, playing beatiful flowing attacking football (fair dos we were sh1t at the back but hey!), and bentley would have thrived given the chance at RM I feel. but thats not whats happened.

he came here, very much a young man, and was thrown into a side that might aswell have lined up back to front, and he probably didnt know what had hit him. "hang on" hes thinking " i came here for european football and trophies, whats all this bottom of the league?" - ironically, probably with the same attitude all of our players had "whats happening?". nobody had the stones to do anything about it, and in the end, it took a new manager to come and get the team playing (this is whats meant by a lack of leaders).

I think hes probably done alot of growing up over the last 6 months or so (at least, i hope he has) and i also believe he will come back a better player, if not techincally then mentally. as for going to gigs etc. hes still a young man, let him do all that - as long as hes putting in the graft on the training ground, and staying healthy off it. a relegation battle is something alot of players could do with being involved in just once in their career, and players like bentley especially.

Being dropped these last few games might just have made him do something I dont imagine he would have done before. Taken a good, long look at himself in the mirror and asked if he really is as good as he thought, and if he is really that indespensable that he doesnt have to give 100% on the pitch, every game.

Didn't think he was 'dire' from set-pieces at all. He hit one that went a mile over but another DJ did well to claw away from his top corner. He also delivered awesome cross after awespome cross, one which Defoe was close to getting on the end of & the other, well, best not mention Bent.

i totally get where you're coming from Pitseleh but its a little unfair making such a detailed judgement of his character when you've ever even met the guy. Who knows what he came here for ultimately or what he was thinking when it started going wrong. I do think dropping him to the bench is exactly what he needed tho, albeit for different reasons. When you are startig every game but not finding your groove, the fans get straight on your back & you know early on that you are mucking up. People (& yourself) only start focussing on your mistakes and not your positives I cant remember a single decent thing Bentley had done recently , I bet you can't & nor can he, but I am sure he did do plenty. Thats not to say he weren't rubbish tho!). Take him off & clear all our minds & bring him back when we need him & we all want him to do well (as opposed to almost wanting/expecting him not to so that we can all say "that Bentley is rubbish") & we start immediately seeing his good side, as does he, giving him immediate confidence.

I'm not saying that's what happened nut I can imagine it that way. You have to remember, all of David's childhood mates are Spurs season ticket holders & they will be in the ground criticising him more than any of us. He came here ewanting to do well for them & himself & he might be feeling like he is letting everyone down.

Personally, I am not one who subscribes to this "he thinks he's better than he is" theory because I know people who have met him & they say its completely the opposite & he actually can't quite believe he's even got as far as he has!

fair enough, obviously that my speculative perception of the guys character, but im only transposing that from what i see from him on the football pitch. thats not quite a bulletproof method, i know, and your right, its not my place to be commenting on his character when i dont know him.

anyway, i just want the bloke to turn it on in a spurs shirt

No, don't get me wrong, Pitseleh, I totally get where your coming from & I'm just the same, i'd love to see him come good. I just think that its difficult to guess what's actually going on his head tho.

I tell you what tho, that Bent miss, OUCH! However, it was superb control & cross from Bentley.
