There are still plenty of stories but they are all the same as far as I can see. Spurs are usually being linked with a new player every 5 minutes and now we have a new manager (again!) you'd expect the rumour mill to be grinding that extra bit faster.

Maybe its the recession but I don't see why the press would let a little thing like money get in the way of a good story! In fact, I would almost expect it to fuel the rumours in a bid to sell more newspapers!

Even City, who are apparently monitoring virtually everybody, aren't generating the frenzy I expected them to. What's going on?

I think the bidding wars are making all the clubs a bit cautious , and lets face it we have just paid a big price because we showed interest very early .

no, its not just you, i have been off work today getting my boiler seen too, so i had sky sports most of the day, and shock horror cricket has been dominating the headlines, hardly any rumours about whos going where, may aswell have gone back into work for the afternoon!!

Most teams at the top are pretty much settled into there squads and need no strengthening as such (Villa, Chelski, Everton, Manure, Liverpool) this is usually where most of the transfers take place imo.
City have been really slow at bidding though. Do you think that could be a sign that Sparky has been given nominal cash to spend and Sheik AbuDhabi are saving it up for his replacement????
Spurs still get in the Daily rags though, not that we are buying many players mind.

Yes I'd agree its a little bit slow at the moment. I think maybe we are playing our cards closer to our chest this year, due to moneybags city bidding on anyone who interests their rivals.

john giles wrote a great article in the paper here today he says theres very little buissness being done but that ssn have repoters outside of every ground at the nearest hint of a story and say its because they are trying to compete with the internet because theres so much s.hit flying around on it about players and 90% of it is bollox so ssn are really making a big deal out of any story because it so quiet just to keep us watching very interesting idea think it has alot of thruth to it tbh

Harry doesn't want to go out and throw bids left and right to show off who we are interested in, that'd be just plain crazy. Like Harry did at Pompey and will do here (except at a very different level) will bring players in that are needed which are 4, but we still have lots of the month left, its only the 7th!

The only thing I'm surprised at is Harry hasn't signed Podolski yet!

Tbh, I'm not surprised about the lack of bids or genuine deals flying about, just referring to the rumours really. Whilst its quite nice not having to sit thru pages of bullsh*t, it feels a little weird.

Not surprised about Podolski. If he does come to the UK he'll be a big flop. Won't be a success outside of Köln!

I been thinking that also baska. Every morning i have a little routine when i get to work. One of those things is checking google news for 'Tottenham'. Over the past few days there has been no new information. Every now and again there is a new article using old quotes and the same stories in different words.
