zhirkov is called the best left wing player in the world...
market value: 16 million pounds
chelsea, barcelona and juventus are interested...
he played a very good euro2008 and i think harry should try to make an offer... but i don't know if we have the money now, after buying defoe
I wonder why nobody has already signed him?!Zhirkov is amazing player.
considering we just bid 14.5m for downing i think 16m for someone twice as good is worth it.
Tottenham Hotspur - A Life Long Labour of Love.
I can say that Zhirkov is the best left winger in the world. I'd rather buy him than Arshavin. Comparing with Downing Zhirkov is much better on defending position and has much more technical skills.
Yes Zhirkov would be excellent he looks class, can play left back/wing back aswell, let's get him if we cant get downing as they just gonna push the price up and up, he was selected in the best XI of the euro 2008, the guy looks class and he could become a friend of roman
In russia they played in rival teams (CSKA and Spartak). It's like Milan and Inter in Italy, Barca - Real in Spain.
yeah but they would still be the only 2 who could speak russian at the club?! Unless the rivalry is that strong in russia and they'd just ignore each other ?
The guy looks quality a real hard worker, thats what the team needs some width on the left
Tottenham - Arsenal in England...
No, of course they would not
I didn't think this is a good idea to buy top russian players cos their market value is extremely high. But when Middlesbrough ask the comparable value for Downing! This gives you something to think about![]()
I've thought for a while Zhirkov is a quality option down the left. He can play LB as well I believe (altho I could be wrong). He was superb in the Euros, arguably Russia's best/most consistent player & I was surprised not to hear his name sooner tbh.
Talking about LW, what's happening with Petrov at Citeh? He was on the verge of being a Spurs player last year & was excellent for the Mancs. I was disappointed his wages got in the way but he's vanished off the radar. I know he's injured but how long for? It seems like ages!
King and Bongani,
King and Bongani bong!!
(watch out here they come!)
Will we stay or will we go now?
Will we stay or will we go now?
If we go there will be trouble
and if we stay we'll do the double
So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!
Rafael, Van Der Vaart
ƒuck Chelsea & Frank Lampard
with a nick-nack paddywhack he'll be getting goals
when Lampard's too fat & old

"The great fallacy is that the game is first and foremost about winning. It's nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. It's about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom."
-Danny Blanchflower
Zhirkov is an exellent player, and deffinately can make any top European club much stronger. And the whole assuption about Zhirkov and Pavluchenko not communicating even if Yuri comes to Tottenham is quite wrong. Yes Yuri plays for CSkA and Pav used to play for Spartak, and yes the rivalry between these two clubs is the oldest and most furious ipne n the Russian prem, but I'm quite sure that in the case of this rivalry its mostly a big deal for the fans, and of course its a big deal for the players, but only on the game. Other then that they can communicate quite well with each other, as we could see during the Euro 2008 matches. Moreover Pav and Zhirkov are two of the most easy going guys in Russian football. So the point is that there would be no problem for Pav and Zhirkov to get along if Yuri comes to Tottenham, moreover it would make everything much easier for Pav.
The thing though is that Zhirkov almost deffinately wont come to Totenham since he is playing for CSKA now, and he is not like Arshavin, who wants to play in Europe nometter what. Yuri will only leave CSKA for a much stronger club, which imo at the moment Tottenham is not. CSKA now is probably one of 2-3 favorites to win the UEFA cup and is almost without a doubt strongest team in Russian prem. And for a person like Zhirkov leaving Russia, means leaving it for something that is really worth it from the point of view of his career, becuase he is a very sitting-at-home-with-his-amily kind of guy.
So to sum up, Arse might have a chance of getting him, Chelski and Juve deffinately have a chance of getting him, as for the other interested parties - i highly doubt it. But don't get me wrong - me being a Tottenham fan and a CSKA fan - I would deffinately rather see Zhirkov in Tottenham then anywhere else, if he decides to leave CSKA.
