You're over thinking .... neither Pav, Bassong or indeed any of our other loan-outs were seeing much 1st team action. Far better for our potential stars of the future to be getting competitive playing experience instead of sitting on the bench.
Instead of Pav (disinterested) and Bassong (frustrated) we now have two players who, approaching the end of their careers, will be happy to 'sit on the bench', seldom used I'm sure but when called upon having the knowledge and experience to do what is required ....
Are they signings for the future, in themselves of course they are not, but with their presence enabling our youngsters, who are our future, to go and gain vital experience then these signings are indeed fantastic for our clubs future ....
'arry and Levy are no fools, Spurs were one of the first clubs to abandon the reserve side and instead loan out players to a competitive level befitting their development .... look at Walker's development as a prime example .... now virtually every top EPL side is copying our model, we've just taken it to the next level .....
NB - Good to see neither of them are cup-tied ..... could get a run out against the mighty Stevenage .....
