Nilmar?

Just heard Warren Haughton (Twitter) on TalkSport Transfer Tavern say that we're looking to bring in Nilmar from Villareal. They want £20m for him though, which we won't pay, but we might pursue a loan apparently

I thought he might be a good signing for one of my teams Spurs or Roma but he's really regressed. I know he's been injured but when he's been on the pitch he hasn't been good. I'm glad we passed on him for Osvaldo, best decision Sabatini made in the summer.

Unless it's a loan to buy option of like £7m I don't think we should bother.

If we're talking about Rossi's injury problems, Nilmar has had two surgeries on the same knee in the past couple seasons.

Also he just said he doesn't want to leave Villarreal this window.

Haughton did say it was pretty unlikely, but it is a new name to throw into the potential transfer hat for this January I suppose!

I guess that, if he came this January, he'd pretty much be behind Adebayor and maybe even Defoe this season anyway so he'd have to impress in the limited game time he'd see. Would he be better than Pav then? Possibly, but certainly not the "big" name for us all to get excited about
