Personally Barca couldn't afford him. How can a team which is massively in debt be linked with such a valuable player?

They can't afford him but that won't stop them from going to the media to profess their undying love for Bale, as well as make an offer that comes with a 30-year instalment. They may also try to dump some of their ageing useless fringe players on us to sweeten the deal.

As a spurs fan, I would hate it if we sold him, Modric all over again.

However if I was Gareth, I would jump at the chance, Biggest, best team in the world, best place to be for trophies etc. (Couldn't say the same to Modric to Chelsea though....)

forgive me if i am wrong, but bale has 3 or 4 years left on a 5 year contract, form memory. that size of contract means the price is nearer 45 mil. and it being the Jan window, thats another 10 mil.

nothing less than 55 mil should be offered
nothing less than 65 mil should be entertained.
nothing should be accepted.

Personally, I believe Madrid would be a better destination for Bale. I dont think that he is made for Barca's short pass-small pitch play. I'm not saying he cant play there, the guy is awesome but Madrid fits him better.

From recent interviews of players and Bale himself, they've all said he loves playing here. I'm sure in the future he would want to move to experience something new, but I do not seeing him leaving for at least another season or two.
