Harry Redknapp is lining up a move for Crewe’s teenage wonderkid Max Clayton.
The Tottenham boss sent scouts to check on Clayton’s full debut in the 1-0 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win over Macclesfield on Tuesday. They were rewarded by seeing the 17-year-old score his first goal in senior football to cap a tantalising display.

Liverpool attempted to sign Clayton two years ago with the Anfield side keen to pay £1million. Crewe boss Dario Gradi then claimed the Premier League side had made an illegal approach. Clayton impressed for England at the recent Under 17 World Cup in Mexico.
