I can't believe I am defending him now...but no he didn't. He said about how SOME Spurs fans claim not to be racist but then sing that song.

At the end of the day it IS a racist song.

BUT he said that he looks past the song, it was something the Spurs fans sang at him to try and wind him up, and he understands that as it is only football and only a game, so he wouldn't hesitate to sign for us as we would no longer sing the song.

I expected to come into this thread to see a lot of posts reinforcing their vitriol for Adebayor but it seems he's not as unpopular as I thought he was...

Can't stand the guy personally but then again, if he came here and scored 25 goals in a season for us I'd probably change my mind.

Intersting if true - I never heard anything in the rumour mill about this (as far as I recall) and so it does show lots may go on we don't know about (although yet again a familiar face for Harry to try and pull in rather than result of great scouting..

I like (or hope) to think we did go for it both last summer and in the winter window but didn't pull it off for what ever reason. Maybe this was partly due to naievety but the will is there and hope we can learn from our mistakes and still have the will to spend this summer and end up getting some of the quality need
