Of a transfer window... the position we need to take us to the next level is a bloody striker! We've been linked with every fookin player in the world, so much speculation, that it got us all winded up, for that "special signing". I'm afraid if we don't buy a class lone striker, we won't take it up to the next level, being the manutd, chelsea, and arsenal fear factor. With this squad, im sorry, but the chances of getting top four are very slim, if we do not strengthen it in the front line.
We got into champions league, and we are all happy that finally were getting that special signing, but im afraid we wont get that this window. This was one of the most important transfer windows for spurs! And we are messing it up with the lack of transfers, that strengthen the starting 11. d
We can get top four this year again, just like last year, but mancity will be strong, even though they lost to sunderland, we lost to wigan! And we wont knock manu, chelsea, or arsenal out of the top four. I feel that Chelsea, Manu and Arsenal are in a different level than us. They play the right system, that grinds out the wins. They have the winning mentality, that we might not have, yet.
For ex. Chelsea, play with 2 more defensive midfielders essien, and mikel, that allows lampard to get up as much as he wants, because he doesnt have to worry about defending. He does get back, but rarely.
We still play a 442, mostly I think because harry loves that formation, and we dont have the players to play a 451, or a formation with a lone striker, which chelsea, manu, arsenal, mancity ,and liverpool do. They all have worldclass strikers, that can play by themselves. People say we need a target man up front, to hold the ball up, but tevez is bloody 5"7 and plays that amazing. We need a player up there that can do everything, it doesnt matter about height. When tevez was at manu, he never played a lone striker, always with rooney, and mancity now use him as a lone striker...funny init?
We have Defoe, who is selfish, and probably will fail at the lone striker, because he cant hold the ball up and tries to get a foul, 20 times a game, that the ref doesnt call. Crouch, will never be a lone striker, he is good for changing the game 70th minute if we are down, or need a goal. Keane, his days are over. Pav, can become our best striker, but he needs a good partnership, and i think keane can do that even though he isnt the player he was, but he is clever, and it showed against young boys.
Harry needs to stop playing his favorites, because IMO, pav is twice the player crouch is, but just needs a run of games. But maybe thats why harry is the manager and im writing this post.
So come on harry, get that bloody signing, we have nothing to lose, except top four..

i still expect us to do buissness tomorrow, but at this stage theres not much quailty left,if we got young in id be happy
yeah, but why wait until the last day, the same as last year? Have about 2 months to get players, and you wait until the last minute. We got a free transfer, and sandro ( not sure what he costs) and we get into the group stages, so we get alot of extra money, and we havent spent it yet to strengthen our squad
i know ros mate,i feel the same way.if it turns out that we sign noone tomorrow, iwill personally kick the first person on here to say "we dont need anyone we have a good enough squad}straight in the bollox
window aint up yet matt, have faith.
Steven Caulker is the messiah!
I have faith, but its running out.
If we aren't improving then we are moving backwards. We need a strong defensive midfielder and a lone striker to improve, everyone beyond these positions are simply cover. While cover is important, it isn't necessarily going to move the team forward quite like the previously mentioned positions would.

We got about 20 hours.
That is more than enough time to get any fookin player we want. ANY PLAYER.
I dont accept that the players arnt or wernt available, it is our tight arsed approach to getting players that have put us in this situation.
ALL of our serious rivals have strengthened significantly while we have added some depth at CB to cover crocked players that should have been put out to pasture or sought adequate replacements long long long ago.
Are we happy to just qualify for the CL once? Because at present the way this has all gone down it fookin stinks of a serious lack of ambition.
I have to give credit where it is due and to Arry for dragging us to the CL and Levy for making us a solvent business, but where are we heading? What now?
Like I said I fully expect those questions to be answered in the next 20ish hours and then one way or another we will know exactly what type of club we support.

We'll said
The only question I have is with the sponsorship deals we've got and the CL money that is expected
why cant we just put in a firm offer for a top striker (which i hope is being done as i type this)
20 million over 2 years for Autonomy
Roughly 2 million a year for Investec (my estimate)
and a further 10 million plus on how we do in the CL
surely Levy can put some of it to good use.
Steven Caulker is the messiah!
I know what you mean. For years we've been saying, all we need is that top 4 finish and the allure of Champions League football and we'll be set. Unfortunately we've wasted an excellent opportunity in not signing anyone.
For all the money we've wasted on crap players over the last 5 years, the one time we have a great chance to get some really world class talent in, we waste it.
I think we'll be ok, and if I can be proven wrong and we do alright this year, fair play. Unfortunately with anyone else moving forwards, we are moving backwards. It's a shame but what can you do.
